I love a forest but I think Delamere is a victim of its own success. very busy, bikes flying around .

A large wooded area with open spaces. good for family hide and seek, dog walking or just to blow the cobwebs away for all ages. fresh air with scents of pine. You can purchase Xmas trees in December for your home or office etc

Extensive forest close to Frodsham, lots of walking and bike trails and there's a station in the middle if you don't want to drive. If you do drive there are large car parks and some side of the road parking. Try and get an idea of where you are heading as when you're deeper in the forest it can be disorienting even though there are coloured trail markers.
Next to the station there's the best cafe which is very retro and serves fab cakes and hot and cold drinks.

What could be better than walking in a beautiful forest (miles and miles of it), past the mere on a nice day with the dog and finishing up at the delamere café for a bacon butty or an afternoon tea (cappuccino's are a must too) - bliss! Can't recommend it enough *****

Great for cyclists (bike hire available), walkers and those who like a bit of adventure on the 'go ape'.

If you go there regularly, it is a good idea to get a pass, £30 for the year - well worth it and saves a lot on parking fees!

Starting to get commercialised, but still plenty of space to get lost, especially if you keep well away from the horse trails, the mountain bike routes, the walking paths. You can get a train straight into the forest from Chester/Manchester and it is the best place to buy a Christmas tree
