good all round restaurant , plenty on the menu ,had a pint first and asked the barman what was best , try the curry he said , its very popular here ,well the curry was very good ,popadoms were good , naans were nice and fresh and the curry was authentic .a good sign is the restaurant was packed ever night , and enjoying an after meal drink it was good to observe many differing dishes coming out and nothing sent back to my knowledge ,also very good value for money

If you are English perhaps this sort of restaurant makes sense. To my eye the menu was all over the place, some Indian, some fish and chips, a burger, I believe they even had pizza. My knowledge of Indian cuisine stems from travels in India and the whole setting discouraged me from trying the Indian part of the menu. We had some burgers and chips and samosas, the latter of a sort that I have really never tried before. The customers appear to be mostly regulars, and mostly people who stay for long periods in the area. For some reason the staff didn't really make us feel welcome, we did arrive after a hot carride and a cooling trip to the beach, yet the place didn't seem that posh to us.

Thanks for taking the time to review us Mahipera. We're quite clear online and in person that this isn't just Indian cuisine - we recently merged with an English pub, El Castillo. Therefore the menu includes, as you say, fish and chips, burgers and pizzas as well as Indian food, to cater to all tastes - including our regular and local customers, who we value just as much as visitors to our beautiful island.

Please be assured that our Indian menu is developed by us (Kesh and Sandy, of Indian origin) and that we've grown up eating and cooking Indian food, including samosas, so we know the cuisine quite well!

Finally, we're not sure what you mean by not seeming "posh"? In any case, we think the 2 star review is quite unfair, especially as it affects our TA ratings negatively. We're sorry you didn't enjoy your experience at our restaurant and but very much hope you enjoy the rest of your time in Menorca.

All the best,

Kesh, Sandy and the Taj team

Holidaying in Addaia we eventually tried this restaurant reluctantly because we have never had a good Indian meal in Spain. Initially we decided on Pizza but when we sat down the aromas coming from the kitchen persuaded us to go for the Indian option. We had a variety of dishes between six of us, all of which were delicious. The highlight though was the lamb special which was superb. My brother in law who is somewhat of an expert and has eaten in many Indian restaurants said it was the best lamb dish he had ever tasted. Portion size was more than enough and the food was not fatty.Talking to the owner after the meal he said that they don't use ghee. The price was very reasonable. 150 Euros including tip and alcohol for six people.

During our 2 week stay we visited 5 or 6 times and on every occasion both the food and service from the very friendly staff was faultless. Both the European menu and Indian menu offer a good choice at a reasonable price. Portions are large and even during busy times the staff are attentive and waiting time from ordering to food being served is excellent. All in all if you are staying in the area Taj Castillo is a most visit
