“What happened to the chilli”
Reviewed May 28, 2014 via mobile

Pleasant restaurant but spoilt by the bland food. We ordered vegetarian dishes but were disappointed. Will remember to ask for spicier dishes if we go again. Nothing else to say about it. 100 characters is a lot unless it is outstandingly good or very bad, this fall between the two, bland!

We apologise the food wasn't to your taste - we do try and keep the vegetarian dishes quite mild as we've had feedback they are too spicy! We appreciate this review is a little old but very much hope you come again as we will make sure to provide you with a spicier, tastier meal - the chef loves chillies so will be delighted!

All the best,
Kesh, Sandy and the Taj team

“Beautiful food, friendly owner and wifi!”
Reviewed April 15, 2014

A really lovely find in a quiet part of town.....lovely food, very friendly owner, sun terrace and wifi available. Beetroot and coconut samosas are awesome and the vegetable kofta balls in korma sauce are fantastic. Homemade lime pickle which is a very nice touch.
Lots of English dishes on offer to suit everyone - pizza, fish and chips......however the chicken tikka madras is a clear winner!

“my eyes still burn...”
Reviewed March 1, 2014

Vacationing at Arenal d'en Castell and stopped at Taj for dinner after a day of sight seeing. We arrived at beginning of dinner service. Within a half hour the entire dining area was so filled with cooking fumes from the kitchen our eyes were stinging and we were so turned off by the almost-burnt odor in the dining room, we nearly left without eating dinner. Our clothing smelled terrible when we returned to our apartment. My eyes still burned the following morning. The food was good, but the experience in the dining area ruined our meal.

We are really sorry to hear this was your experience. Since your review we have taken steps to ensure staff always close the kitchen door properly, and to keep windows and doors open if the weather outside is warm enough (Spain in spring is tricky!). We do hope you'll give us another chance on your next visit.

All the best,

“Fantastic Food”
Reviewed December 7, 2013

Back in Menorca again, have been out to Raj Restaurant in Addaia for family meal. Fantastic choice of menu, four of us all chose something different and all shared and tasted each others, think I can safely speak for the others, the food was great.
It was plentiful, tasted fantastic and the fresh dips as appetisers were out of this world.
Staff were friendly and attentive.
Fantastic value, will be going again, would recommend a visit to anyone.

“Light weight curry”
Reviewed November 1, 2013

This was the first curry I have eaten in an Indian restaurant that tasted like a chinese curry!!
I think they are catering for UK customers from the south of England who wouldnt know a good curry if it slapped them in the face! The addition of monosodium glutomate in a curry is a whole new experience for me. I have far better curry from a jar from Tescos. As for the pickle tray, well the mango chutney tasted like apricot jam!! the rest of the tray was of similar poor quality

Really sorry to hear this was your experience. Our recipes are authentic and some have been passed down from our family in north India, and the food is always freshly made, so perhaps you caught us on an off day? We do hope next time you're in Menorca you'll give us a second chance.
