We have had lunch and dinner at l'Ardoise several times since their opening in summer 2013 and were never disappointed. The cuisine is excellent and prepared with a sophistication you would not expect in a tiny village without being pretentious. The service matches the good food and you feel welcome from the minute you step on the shady terrasse or into the restaurant with its modern and tasteful decoration. They work as a husband and wife team, the husband being an accomplished chef and the wife an attentive and friendly host. The value for money you get at l'Ardoise is also very good.
While the restaurant is off the beaten track it is in easy reach of the main road between Bordeaux and Bergerac right at a bridge over the river Dordogne where the three departements Dordogne, Gironde and Lot-et-Garonne meet in a lovely countryside setting surrounded by wine fields.
