I visited on a Saturday afternoon with a couple of girlfriends, and as the weather was initially pleasant we decided to sit in the garden. Not long after our food arrived, it started to rain so we moved inside. As we sat down, we were told the restaurant was fully booked later and could we move into the bar.As this was only 4.30pm, the restaurant was empty, so it seemed a bit silly that we were being asked to not just move tables, but out of the restaurant entirely, even though we had food. There are hardly any tables in the bar, so the only one left was a small table, which 3 of us had to balance 3 large plates on, with one of us sat on a stool, to finish our food, so not an ideal way to eat. When we left at 6pm, our plates hadn't even been cleared. As a previous review says, has the potential to be a really lovely pub, but a bit more effort would have gone a long way.

I absolutely love this place. The food is fantastic and the place itself is stunning.
The service can be slow but they are always polite and welcoming.
For me it's definately a case of the best things come to those who wait.
Best pub for miles!

Eight of us had a birthday meal here, food was generally nice, service friendly and attentive. Nice ambience, the gardens looked nice to eat in on a sunny day.

Been here a number of times for lunch and unfortunately have suffered each time on timeliness for food - which is particularly irritating when you've pre-ordered.

So all in all, doesn't tick all the right boxes - but does have potential.

We visited as a leaving 'do' - and a party of 12. Whist booking and arranging, the team couldn't have been more helpful. They allowed me to take away a menu and even went to the trouble of indicating which dishes would best suite a colleague's dietary needs. They were happy for me to decorate the table in advance and no, we absolutelky did not need to make any advance orders.
We could not have faulted the location we were given - fabulous on a lovely summer's evening. Neither could we fault the menu. So why then, did the service take so long? We didn't sit down to our main courses until 9pm - some 2 hours after our booking time. In the end, I asked for the bill to be brough quickly because we were concerned that we might never get home.
This was such a pity for an obviously excellent restaurant in a lovely location.
