We always find this restraurant enjoyable to visit. It's very well furnished. The service is excellent and so is the food. It's one of the best we have been to in bristol. Worth a visit.

I've been to most of the Indian restaurants in Bristol, and this has to be in my top 5. The setting and atmosphere perfectly matches the wonderful cuisine that has never disappointed. The only downside is that they are always busy, which can lead to delays, but they have plenty of staff on hand and they manage quite well with the volume of custom. Prices reflect the quality, but with the Taj, you know it's worth paying.

After booking earlier on in the day,it took us 30mins to be seated, so we ended up waiting in the seated area. The place was very busy, with loads of people coming in for takeaway or to eat in. The decor is really nice and suits the place and the ambience, with a loud fun atmosphere. When we finally got to the table, the service was excellent and we were often asked if we wanted more drinks. However, we had to wait TWO hours for our food to come, so didn't eat until 10pm, by then i had guts ache out of hunger!! We were on the edge of walking out by this stage. It wasn't just us, lots of people were waiting and seemed to be getting inpatient. I think it may of helped if we were told there would be a long wait for our food, but we got no indication from the waiters. The waiters are very good at offering you drinks whilst you wait....However, when the food did come, it was lovely, and we couldn't fault it. We've only rated this average because to me, eating out isn't just about good food, but its about good service, and not having to wait for ages and getting sore guts, which is what unfortunately happened here. We were charged for all our drinks whilst we waited as well. Some restaurants give you some on the house to reward your patience! Anyway, lovely food, but think we'll stick with Royal Raj down the road. Although not as posh decor wise, the service is spot on.

Don't be put off by the abrupt telephone manner, very curt and impolite.

High quality in a local area. Efficient service - good pace but not over-speedy. Unusual dishes on the menu and huge variety. Very limited parking.
