“Another wonderful holiday”
Reviewed September 28, 2012

I am sitting by the pool writing this. Once again the hotel and staff have surpassed themselves, I feel like I have another home and family here. The staff go out of there way to ensure you have a holiday to remember, excellent accommodation, food and staff. Thank you once again. I will be back xxxxxDianne

Returned to Atlantica Golden Beach in June this year our 2nd visit in 2 years. The first time we went was for a week this time we had 2 weeks. The food was excellent, plenty of choice. Lunch is at the taverna near the beach, breakfast and evening meal in the main restaurant. We had a partial sea view room which over looked the pool also so was very pleased with the room choice. As most reviews have said this is an excellent choice of hotel. We enjoyed it so much we are returning later on in the year.

Well done to all the team at Atlantica Golden Beach.

Booked this hotel based upon TA comments for a get away week in the sun. Just 4 hours on a plane from Gatwick, 40 minute transfer and you are in probably the best hotel in Paphos. Hot and sunny everyday. Would recommend all inclusive with a room with a sea view so you can sit on the balcony and watch the great sun set. No beach as such but the hotel is landscaped on different levels pointing towards the sea with lots of sun beds. If you want to sit by the pool from mornings, you have to compete with the regulars who will be sitting there with their towel by 0645.

My tip is to have a lazy breakfast and stroll down to the grass area by the sea. Plenty of sun beds, cool breeze from the sea and you are by the restaurant for lunch and cold drinks throughout the day. By 1630 you can normally get a bed by the pool.

I'm not a fan of buffets but the food from morning, lunch and dinner was fantastic. Lots of variety. Be warned there is potential to put on pounds. Didn't need the calm belly tablets.

Our sea facing room was modern and kept clean.

The staff were brilliant from the time we arrived to the time we left and seemed to be really enjoying themselves as much as we were. Nothing too much trouble. They won the best Thomson Gold resort award last year and want to achieve it again. The attention to detail and commitment shows.

I thought the entertainment over the 7 days was very good. Some nights better than others but its a personal preference.

Took a bus from outside the hotel ( 1 euro each way ) to Pathos, then used the open top red sightseeing bus to get a good look around. Lunch at the harbour is very good with lots of restaurants to chose from.

The hotel caters for all age groups. There were a few honeymooners, couples in their 30's to couples in their 70's.

Late Sept seems the ideal time to go here. I'm told in July and Aug the weather is very hot and uncomfortable. Weather for our week was 30deg plus.

Would go back for another week next Sept.

Room Tip: Spend the extra and get a sea view.

Just returned from staying at this hotel. Like last year had a lovely time. Hotel is very well maintained and all the staff are very friendly. Food was very good with plenty to choose from. One criticism was the entertainment. During our 11 night stay we were entertained three times by the Thomsom touring team. I have to say that they were not very good with them being very shrill and loud. Surely they should have checked their volume. Becky and Jamesy did their best but things just didn't flow as well as last year. We played aqua dominoes three times, it was as if they were getting tired of running the activities. I know Jamesy was recently placed in the hotel and we were told the rep that was there before was relocated to a failing hotel. Having paid for entertainment we expect the best and not someone who has only worked for the company for six weeks (and been moved from three other hotels). He is a lovely person and did as well as he could but obviously was floundering at times. Also the same music was played night after night after the main acts were finished. Something more up to date would have been appreciated. These are only minor and should not put anyone off going to this lovely hotel. Hopefully entertainment will be sorted out.

Having returned from our holiday at this brillient hotel on the 5th of September we then looked through the holiday brochure to see where to go next year as my husband really wanted to go somewhere with a bit more of a beach, the beach at Golden Bay being rather small and not very sandy.
But when we weighed up all that we get in The Hotel Atlantica and its wonderful staff against a large sandy beach The Atlantica won hands down and we have booked again already to return in 2013.
A big thank you to Mr Pambos and his staff who make you feel so welcome from the moment you arrive and are given a glass of champagne or orange juice.
We book a superior room with a sea view well worth the extra which like all other areas of this hotel are kept beautifully clean.
I am very fussy about my food but can honestly say the food in this hotel is excellent and unfortunaetly I have a few pounds to shed now.
We went on The love Cyprus trip a long day but worth it and the guides are very knowledgeable all speak excellent English.
We also took ourselves into Paphos on the bus caught opposite the hotel and for 3 euros each where we can get on and off as many times as we like and back again we visited The Paphos Mosaics and The tombs of The Kings both vast sites take water with you, you can buy some at the Mosaics but not at the Tombs.
The thing that really makes this hotel stand out though is the staff friendly, polite and always ready to help and this is from the management down I have never come across a group of managers who are so approachable . A big thank you also to the Thomson reps Nick and Katy after last years reps I didn't think they could be topped but guess what Nick and Katy you have .
We didn't go to the ballroom this year for the entertainment although we heard it was great preferring to spend our evenings on the terrace of the Dionysos Bar where we well well taken care off by Sonia,Laura and Orsolya who really does make the best Black Russian I have tasted in years and off course the wonderful irrepressible Nicolleta if every hotel had one of her they would always have people returning.
So many people to thank in the Resurant Beatrix,Florica,Andrea, Christina Andreas to name but a few thank you all so much. Sorry to those I have left out you are all brilliant to all the Kitchen staff and those who clean for us to the gentelman who maintain the grounds and pool Thank you so much.
The only thing that I did have a niggle with this year was the fact that there were Lilos in the pool last year there were none. Please people Lilos are for the beach not the pool as they take up a lot of room also when people are on the grassed area would they please wear flip flops or something on their feet as walking with bare feet they pick up a lot of mud and dirt which they then walk in the pool and the staff work so hard to keep it clean for us, my husband and I sit on the grassed area and we wear flip flops it dosen't take a second to put them on.
Once again Thank you Atlantica for a really wonderful holiday experiance and God willing we will see you again next year.

Room Tip: The sea faceing rooms have a much better outlook than the ones facing the road.

Just back from two weeks at the Golden Beach, Hotel is lovely, staff very helpful and friendly.WIFI available in reception. Not much around Hotel, although bus stops just outside and is only 1 euro per journey. The only downfall was to have to go to the beach restaurant at lunch time, which is a steep climb back, not suitable for anyone with mobility problems. You can get a sandwich at Bar on reception level which we did a few times. The Beach is rocky and pebbly and not easily accessed. The entertainment was average at night the daytime was much better.

Having previously stayed at the Atlantica Golden Beach Hotel two years ago, my wife and i were looking forward to a completely stress free holiday to recharge our batteries. We were NOT disappointed ! We arrived late on a saturday evening from East Midlands and were the only couple to be dropped off at the Atlantica . We were greeted with a very warm welcome from the manager and promptly given a glass of cava, whilst completing the usual check-in formalities . We were offered food in the restaurant, but being late we decided to just go to our room and then go for a drink . Our luggage had already been taken to our room, which, i thought was a nice touch . The room itself was very clean, well maintained and spacious enough for our 11 night stay ( this was a superior room ), with a balcony view over the swimming pool and out to sea . During check-in , you are given a voucher for one complementary evening dinner in the A' la carte restaurant, which you need to book as soon as possible as this is very popular . The A' la carte restaurant is open on a monday, tuesday, wednesday and thursday evenings from 6:30 to 8:30 and should be booked at least 48 hours in advance. If you would like an additional evening dinner in the A' la carte restaurant, this can arranged at an additional cost of 19.95 euro's per person. You are also offered an all-in drinks package ( for local beers and spirits etc only, not named beers and spirits ) at a cost of 19.90 euro's per person, per day, or an all inclusive package for all local drinks, lunch, snacks and the room safe at a cost of 24.90 euro's per person per day. Either option is very worth it, as the tour operators charge at least 50% extra, if you take up the option when you book your holiday. Breakfast is taken in the Ambrosia Restaurant between 07:00 to 10:00, where you pick your own table either inside or out and help yourself to the buffet. There is the usual english breakfast choice, if you are creature of habit, or a whole variety of food to start the day. Don't be affraid to ask the duty chef for a fresh omelette, made right in front of you at the cooking area. If you arrive for breakfast at 07:00, take breakfast outside and be amused at the sad folk, who have to reserve the same sun lounger around the pool every day. GET A LIFE ! You are supposed to be on holiday. There are plenty of sun loungers around the well maintained pool and bar area, with loungers on grassed areas near the pool and down by the small beach/Amalthia Tavern. There were various activities around the pool, during the day, organised by the very enthusiastic and hard working Becky and James, for those who wished to move from their sun loungers. The beach is tiny, but the sea in the naturally formed lagoon is very calm and very welcome on a scorching hot day. Lunch, during the main season, can be taken in the Amalthia Tavern between 12:30 to 14:30 and is a buffet style lunch. Before dinner, enjoy a drink on the balcony of the Dionysos Lobby Bar and watch the sun setting, don't forget your camera, camcorder or tablet. You wil hear 'Yiamas' said many times to guests as they are greeted and waited on by the extremely effervescent, efficient and very hard working Nicoleta. If every hotel had a Nicoleta, there would be no such thing as poor service. Dinner is served in the Ambrosia Restaurant between 18:30 to 21:30, please note that shorts and swimwear are not to be worn to dinner, where you wait to be greeted by George or Nicos with ' Kalis Spera ' ( 'Good Evening' ) and shown to your table . You can request a table inside or out, but be prepared for a short wait if you request a table outside, as these are very popular and limited. The after dinner entertainment is very typical, but not worthy of some of the scathing remarks left in some reviews. If you want to get about on your own, there is a bus stop on either side of the road right outside the Atlantica. For 1 euro you can travel in one direction, to Coral Bay terminus, or the other to Paphos new town/harbour terminus, or Debenhams. The old town of Paphos is another 1 euro bus journey, i would recomend you take the bus as it is a very long walk up hill. Their are plenty of bar/restaurants in Paphos and at the harbour with extensive menus with no hassling, unlike some resorts. The bus to the old town takes you to the market, where you will also find restaurants that have a lovely view over Paphos new town, the harbour, the ancient archeological site and the sea. For 3 euro's you can buy a day ticket, or 13 euro's for a weekly ticket. The buses are very frequent and help is at hand at Paphos terminus if you need it. For visitors to Cyprus, there is plenty to see and do, whether you go on an organised trip, or sight seeing on your own. To conclude, the Atlantica is a very clean, well maintained and friendly hotel, with a superb, friendly, hard working team who make every effort to make your holiday one to remember for all of the right reasons. We very much look forward to another holiday at the Atlantica Golden Beach Hotel, in the not too distant future !!!!
