Went to Coconut Grove for my partners birthday in Nov 13, had a awesome meal. We are great lovers of asian good to picked the asian options, including the deep fried snapper which was easily equal to anything we have had in Thailand. The staff were friendly and super helpful considering our toddler was busily trying to destroy our table. Had a great meal and experience and would definitely go back again when in town.

Having had the local menu at nearby embassy xo we decided to give this special $34.50 'summerlicious' menu a go. There's a choice of two items for each course, but the quality of the food is a world apart from xo's menu.
The starters were fairly bland shredded pork salad with fetta and an open Asian wonton deep fried with a single defrosted prawn and some leaves on top. Both seemed to have the same balsamic dressing. Mains were a Goan curry which could have been chicken or fish ( so over cooked we couldn't tell though the sauce was ok) and something else forgettable. Two desserts of grainy cheesecake which we didn't eat. The service was pleasant enough but very rushed. Don't think they asked if we enjoyed the food. Wouldn't go back.

We had been given a 5 star review on this venue and were looking forward to our dinner.
The night did not start great as the welcome from the staff was not super warm and the menu described itself as modern Australian (such a vague description, sounds like an excuse produce a menu to try and please everyone.... Ho Hum)
To be fair when I read the menu I got excited as the descriptions sounding wonderful really getting the taste buds going.
But all that was dashed as a procession of poorly seasoned average to bland food was delivered to the table.
The sad thing was that each dish had the potential to be so much better they had the making of being very good just missing the beat on execution.
Pity to show but fall so far short, we won't return and would not recommend.

We all ordered different meals but all got the same quality - terrible. Couldn't even give us fresh hot chips with the simple fish and chip meal that was ordered. Cold and soggy. Had a table near the door and as they dont have a reception area it was so noisy with people standing right next to us catching up - so rude! Staff couldn't have cared less. No second chances for this joint! Go to the Embassy XO - Great food, good service and much quieter.

My husband and I dined here on a Monday evening. We arrived to an empty restaurant and our order was taken promptly however thereafter service was quite slow. Two other tables of diners arrived quite some time after us yet they were served well before our meals arrived - perhaps the chef was taking some extra time with my steak which was certainly cooked to perfection!
I ordered the chargrilled Kilcoy eye fillet with the barbecued Mooloolaba prawns and handcut chips. As mentioned the steak was superbly cooked. The meal could have done with a little more salad as the eye fillet was quite large so it was a very "meaty" dish. This along with the handcut chips, dare I say it, made it taste rather like a good pub meal.
My husband ordered the Balinese baked fish wrapped in banana leaves with coconut rice, caramelised chilli pineapple, coconut, mint cucumber salad. This was quite adventurous for my husband so we were looking forward to seeing his dish. Presentation was interesting and initial tastes were flavoursome. Unfortunately the salad was small in proportion to the rest of the dish, particularly the abundant coconut rice which drowned out the flavour of the fish.

The restaurant was quite busy by the time we left, with several tables with children. Families could feel quite relaxed here. Our experience was enjoyable enough but not that sensational that I would be eager to get back there in a hurry.
