Everything about this recently renovated Chateau is fabulous. Our family room was 'wow'. No expense has been spared on anything in the Chateau. The food and wine on both evenings of our stay were excellent. The pool and grounds are simply beautiful. The owners Laurent and Christine are very nice easy going people. Laurent who is also the chef takes his work very seriously and is an absolutely 'wonderful' host. The free soft drinks and chocolates were a big hit with our son. We came away feeling completely spoilt. I can't recommend this place enough. Chateau De Lamothe is by far so much better than any 5 star hotel we have every stayed in. It is in a class of its own. Can't wait to visit again.

One of the best places we have ever stayed. Beautiful rooms, superb food, wonderful service. Everything about this chateau was just perfect. Views up to the Pyrenees and a peaceful location. Larry's hospitality was just superb. All the little extras showed how much thought as gone into this place. Can't recommend enough! We will be back!!!

we went back again to Chateau Lamothe and again had a wonderful experience, it was like coming home.. the proprietor, Laurent Nederlof, had taken a course with the famous cook Ducasse, and his cooking was excellent, furthermore, the hospitality they showed us again, the beautiful rooms with all comfort and the lovely surroundings made for a very relaxed few days!
Its lie at the foothills of the Pyrenees is very convenient for daytrips..

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful and comfortable, however if you do not like too many stairs, take a room on...

We have visited the Chateau de Lamothe 3 times in the last 4 years, it is definitely one of
our favourite places to stay, the chateau is beautifully set on the top of a knoll above the tiny village of Moumour, in the foothills of the Pyrenees.. The quiet surroundings have a very calming effect on the spirit and the rooms are beautifully decorated.. there is a lovely pool outside, the spa is small but very efficient, the owners, Laurent and Christine, wonderful hosts..and excellent cooks at that.. There is also an annex that can be rented, with additional rooms en suite, a conference room and own big kitchen/living room and dining room...
A wonderful place to stay to unwind from work and spend quality time with the family...
Highly recommend this chateau

Room Tip: Any room has its own charms... the bridal suite is gorgeous, but really no preference

We stayed here by mistake when unable to find a hotel in Pau around the Tour de France - a happy accident as we found Lemothe to be a superbly restored and charmingly run alternative, with all the little details one might hope for from a historic luxury chateau. The room was enormous with captivating views of the grounds. Pool excellent. Food and wine from our host / chef was the natural option as you will wish to spend as much time here as you can (and Pau was rather dull!). We fond time to enjoy the in-house cinema too. Next time we will bring our two children, they would love it too.

We actually stayed here to see the end of a Tour de France stage in Pau. We couldn't get a room in Pau to accommodate our daughters as well. We booked the family room, which included a small kitchenette, a sitting room, a cinema room, a private bath and two large king beds with two additional twin beds. Needless to say, we had plenty of room and the kids were able to go outside and play inn the grounds. That was an added benefit we couldn't have gotten in a traditional hotel. We ate dinner at the château one night and were impressed with the service. Our hosts were very accommodating and did absolutely everything they could to make our stay more enjoyable. There's nothing to the town (incredibly small), but that may be just what some are seeking.
Its a secluded place with traditional French accommodations and gracious hosts.

A wonderfull place to relax, enjoy, contemplate.
Attentive owners, excellent cuisine, modern equipment.
A nice area to visit around, 1 hour to Lourdes, 1,5 hour to the Atlantic coast. One gets the feeling of old France there.
There rooms are very nicely decorated with a lot of taste, space and luxury.
