Booked this quite late Bir we were pleasantly surprised. Although the room was quite small it was more than adequate. Comfortable bed, very clean and enough hanging space for all the ski gear. A few rooms dotted about downstairs including bar area, lounge area and another room offset between the two. Restaurant was nothing to rave about but was again more than adequate as was the selection on the breakfast buffet. We had the evening meal option and there was a choice of three, which you chose the evening prior or at breakfast. Staff and owner very friendly and up for a laugh. Wouldn't hesitate to come back if it arose

Everything we needed for a ski holiday - good food and plenty of it, good beer and hot chocolate, and comfortable beds.
While some people don't like the idea of ordering their meal the night before, it worked for us - one less thing to think about at the end of the day, and the set meal time actually works well for groups, as it means that there are no arguments about when to eat or how long to spend in a bar.
The only drawback is that the bus stop is about 5 minutes away when you aren't used to walking in ski boots, and the buses aren't frequent, but that's outside Andreas' control - anything he could fix for us, he did.

Our group of seven had a great time at Hotel Aurach. Our third year but we took along new friends as we had experienced two great holidays there previously- they agreed- wonderful service from Andreas, owner/manager, and his staff, nothing was too much trouble! Fantastic food - hearty breakfasts, well presented, tasty 3 course dinners - (we had a vegetarian and a coeliac in our group). Pleasant, clean, spacious rooms with small balcony. Excellent value for money, out of town so quieter and well worth the short bus ride to the slopes!

We were interested in a ski stay in Kitzbüel and due to its nice rating, we decided to send an e-mail requesting for availability and prices (booking on-line is not possible via their website).

In addition, we filled up the contact form in the website in order to request for our accommodation.

Two days later, as we did not were replied, we sent the e-mail again.

The trip was for January, and it's in September when we are planning it in advance, so we need to buy the flights, rent a car, and so on.

After no having reply, I decided to phone directly and.... surprise! The person who picked up the phone told me that they don't accept bookings right now, and that reservation could be done just 3 weeks before.

I explained him that depending on the booking we would buy one flight or another, but of course those are their rules.

However, when requested about his not reply, obviously he could not say anything.

It is really easy, when you receive 3 (three!!) booking requests from the same person at your hotel, simply reply the e-mail telling that you can not accept the booking.

Maybe they need to improve a little their customer care.

After booking through an agent and picking the cheapest hotel available we were not expecting too much. The hotel is probably cheaper because it is not directly in the resort, not at the bottom of a ski run and not a high star rating. None of this mattered to us as we would not need a swimming pool, are quite happy to catch a ski bus (200 meters from the door) and would prefer not to hear drunk brits shouting their heads off at 1am in the morning.
The rooms were basic but comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was good with enough variation to suit all.

There is a very pleasant 3klm walk along the river into Kitzbuhel and the ski bus is regular enough to bring you back. The drinks are fairly priced so no major drama at the end of the week when you pay the bar tab.

As long as you have a reasonable expectation from a hotel then you won't be disappointed. Good for all as long as you don't mind a short walk to the bus stop.

Next year we have booked direct with the Hotel and are driving at our leisure. Can't wait!
