While traveling for 3 months my boyfriend and I stayed (recently) at Papaya's Lodge for 8 nights. This hostel/hotel boasts incredible value! We stayed in private room #5 in the far bottom corner and loved the privacy we had during our stay. We paid $25/night. Wifi works great, kitchen is functional, swimming pool was always clean and very refreshing. The staff are so friendly and helpful, we were greeted so warmly every time we interacted. They didn't come into our room to do any housekeeping during our stay, which I liked because I don't usually want anyone in my room when I'm not present. That being said anytime we needed anything they wouldn't hesitate to stock us up!

A few highlights are the location of the hotel (3 minute walk down the main drag to the beach), and also that they ask everyone to be quiet after 10-11pm. This is not a party hostel, which was great because we weren't kept awake all night! (However parties can be found a stones throw away)

The common areas of this hotel are really well set up and always extremely clean (Every time I turned around someone was cleaning). There is free filtered water for guests to drink at all times. The only thing I noticed was if your food wasn't labeled in the fridge it would often go missing, but there are signs up stating that, so MY bad!

I would DEFINITELY stay here again, and recommend this place to everyone! Loved everything about my stay!

This hostel is right I'm the entrance of the beach which makes it very convenient.

It is priced really good $8 dorm. And only 4 people per dorm.
Has a sweet pool to cool off during the day. Kitchen is always clean and staff is amazing.
Great people and super helpful! !
Loved staying here and would recommend it to anyone traveling to El Tunco.

Very laid-back and colourful place. The rooms are clean and spacious. Many expotic plants, well-maintained shared areas, hammocks everywhere and nice fellows hanging around made our stay enjoyable. The kitchen is clean and well equipped, it has two big fridges and plenty of space to store your food. Small outdoor pool and BBQ. The only cons were that our toilet wasn´t cleaned all week long and at the time of our stay there were intensive construction works going on (so no siesta int he afternoons;). But to be fair, the owner really makes effort to enhance this oasis:) All bars just few steps away, beach up to 5mins walking. I would definitely recommend this place!
