“Lovely setting; delicious food”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 31, 2014

Whoa! This restaurant has it all….wonderful location, excellent food, attentive service and very high prices! They do not take reservations so when we got there they told us we could be seated 40 minutes later. So we went to Mission Hills Winery and when we returned we still had to wait another 15 minutes for a table outside. It was a wonderful setting overlooking the vineyard and the lake beyond that. Emmanuelle was our lovely waitress and we ordered a bottle of their Pinot Gris, which was absolutely one of the best we have ever had. They do not sell it in their store because of a limited amount. My husband and I shared the beet salad, good but a very small amount and we also shared the ling cod with spinach entre and truffle oil fries all of which were delicious. Good choice. Our friend had the crab cakes, which he said were very good. All in all, the four of us totally enjoyed our meals and even though it was very expensive, we would definitely return for a special occasion.

“Spectacular”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 30, 2014

Had reservations for lunch here on my husband's birthday and we had a fantastic table, server, wine and meal. Highly recommend you make reservations as it was busy. Our server was from the Island from a higher end hotel and it showed. He was attentive and very good. Food was amazing. We had been in the winery for tasters before heading to the restaurant so we knew we were ordering a wine we would enjoy. We were on the patio by the pond overlooking the vineyards and the lake. From start to finish our lunch experience was fantastic. We will definitely return.

“Lucky us!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 27, 2014

We dropped by in an afternoon in hopes of getting a lunch reservation on the patio, on rather short notice, on a very busy Sunday afternoon. We got a table with a beautiful view of the lake, and had a lovely lunch. We both ordered the cod, which was cooked to perfection, with a slight crisp on the outside and moist and delicious on the inside. The sauce was quite tasty as well. The dish could have used a bit more vegetable as accompaniment, but as a whole, the dish was very pleasing. Since we still had room, we ordered the beet and kale salad, a delightful combination of flavours that included a house-made cheese, as well as the charcuterie board, which was very flavourful. We are gluten free, and found the staff accommodating. Combined with the recommended wine pairing for our cod, a Pinot Noir, we went away full and very satisfied. A delicious meal.

As always, wines change from year to year. This year, I enjoyed all of the white wines available for tasting.
