We visited Quail's Gate to buy some wine. Inadvertently we fell in love with the wine and were piqued with interest to see what pairing their chef could cook. Went down to the beautifully set restaurant with views of mountain, lake, and winery. The treat was that they were doing a "bring back the classic" style special. I had the pot pie and ever since then, my wife has been cooking me pot pie whenever we bring out a bottle of Quail's Gate. :) See you again next time we are in town, hopefully soon.

Unreal view, atmosphere, food was great! Food and wine expensive, but worth it. Try Foch, bold red wine!

After visiting several wineries in the area, we made a reservation for dinner at the restaurant at Quail's Gate winery, whilst the food was outstanding the service was very slow and unfortunately let the restaurant down a little as we were kept waiting a long time between courses. As mentioned the food and the wine were brilliant, I would go back but perhaps for lunch rather than dinner.

If your planning on going here for the first time let me tell you some things to expect before going and some advice. The first time we went here was during holidays (summer holidays that is) and it was a week day so seating was no problem and wow what a view. We had a nice table outside in their courtyard area with a spectacular view. We wanted to try some of their wines but didn't want to buy bottles of wine so our server brought out samples of 4 wines for $20 which is reasonable. Food wise the portions are small but the food was good. You have to keep in mind they are known for wines first, views second with food coming in 3rd. It's all about having the right wine with your meal so make sure to ask the server which wine goes best with your meal to get the best experience. Price wise be prepared to spend some $$$ as it's not cheap to come here for lunch or dinner but if this is your first time go during the week when its more quiet. Make sure to come during summer on a nice day and make sure your not staving when you come there and you will have a nice memory. After that change things up and let us know how it went. Cheers. :)
