Do not go for canned beans and boiled potatoes and cheap canned sauces to this restaurant which is charging $22 and up for the terrible platery!

Charming little Italian restaurant with lovingly prepared food. The atmosphere is great, with red checkered tablecloths and fading posters of Italy. Our meals were delicious -- packed with flavour and smothered in silky sauces. The aging Italian chef is on his own, so be patient, because the food takes a while. We had meat entrees, wine and dessert, and found it all a touch expensive, but still worth it. Good service!

We're so happy to find this place in our neighbourhood!

I don't know who wrote the reviews before hand but i can tell you with authority that they don't appreciate the priceless experience this restaurant offers. The owner, an easy-going older Italian man who loves to cook, owns and serves by himself on quiet nights (I believe he has a staff for the busier nights). We were their on a quiet night, mid-week in October with only three tables occuped and we were a group of four. This is the kind of a place you would give your 'left arm to find' if you were in Vancouver or NY, where I am from. The owner (I wish I could remember his name) takes your orders without writing anything down and easily will change certain things if you request( I wanted a terrific sonding Pasta dish with chicken, Porcini mushrooms, leeks and peas..but in his famous marinara..not 'Oil and Garlic'...not a problem...and he didn't write anything down). We all ordered different delicious salads as he brought out hot bread and some local wines that our hosts who live in this wine producing area had chosen. We sat and talked and drank as we leisurely enjoyed a 2 hour dinner. Was it worth it? Bien sur! He was making each dish from scratch in the kitchen and my friends were so correct in telling us it was worth the wait. I can honestly say that the Pasta dish I had was one of the finest at any restaurant in a long time. My companion who had a type of Tuscan Meat dish with herbed potatos was going nuts..it was so good. And the portions. I am against the super-size mode of North American restaurants but...in this case I did not mind my plate filled with luscious firm Semolina pasta with all these delicious fresh ingredients. My Tartuffo for dessert was also incredible and then...he brought out a glass of 'grappa' on the house. This man worked very hard to make us a wonderful meal from start to finish and yet...we were relaxed as he was relaxed and not phased by anything. One of the best finds on this last trip to the West of Canada. Since I will be back in Westbank...I will be back at this restaurant..knife and fork ready to go! If you ppreciate this type of dining...don't hesitate. If you are expecting the 'Olive Garden' variety of 'one hour decent but nothing amazing dinner' before going to the movies or you are in a rush...this is not for you (pause) Pity! :) 5* and a Bravo!

We were hesitant at first, as there weren't that many people there. But the chef is a one man show and really cooks great Italian food. His ingredients are all straight from Italy, as is he. I had the veal, and as a veal connosieur it passed with flying colors, no knife needed! My husband had a spicy pasta with sausage that the owner makes himself and the sauce was to die for. Having been all over Italy, I can truly say this matches up with anything we've had over there. He doesn't make his own pasta, but one can't be too picky over in Westbank, can they... I can see why he has so many regulars. Our waitress was super sweet. We will definitely be back!
