Our party of 5 went in for tastings at the wine bar at Volcanic Hills. We did not have a good experience with the service. The lady, Trish, who helped us at the tasting bar was very stingy with the pour (barely one and a half sip so we couldn't really get a good tasting on the second sip). The tasting fee was $5 for 4 wines and she made sure that whoever wanted to taste a 5th wine had to pay extra for it. (she ran to the cashier to make sure the extra $2 was charged, even after we bought 3 wines there) She was also nitpicking at the terms that we used at the tasting bar and had to remind us over and over again that "this is your last tasting". She is the main factor why we did not enjoy our time there. We've visited many other wineries in the area and they were all very generous/friendly and wanted us to try their wine. Whereas this lady, Trish, is the exact opposite. Overall, however, the other people at this winery seemed polite. The chef at their newly opened restaurant even came out to offer us tiny morsels of food to try. But if you're going there for the wine, don't expect a great experience at Volcanic Hills if Trish is helping you at the wine bar.
