“Far from action but nice”

I choose this hotel because the Holiday Inn Express was very expensive. It is located about 10 minutes away from the centre of Kelowna, however close to wineries. Nice area .. great pine smell in the early morning.
Nice big rooms and excellent service at front desk...
Restaurant is very good value and friendly staff.

A good place for a highway stopover -- less noise than staying at a comparable place in Kelowna; a quick drive or a long walk to the lake and beach; decent attached restaurant; pleasant outdoor pool for a hot summer day; quick and easy checkin if you are a Priority Club member; comfortable rooms and beds; easy highway access in the morning. This is not the place if you wish a lakeview but serves as a great stopover in the center of things.

Well, on the return trip to Vancouver, we passed by Kelowna again, but this time we stayed in Westbank. The Holiday Inn gave us exactly what we expected: clean and the expected. Travelling with a family with 2 young children, we wanted predictable. Nothing fancy, but nothing bad. Location is good, 2 restaurants right next door and right off Hwy 97. Service from the front counter was pleasant and the free wireless internet worked flawlessly, unlike some other places. Price is reasonable too.

Stayed for one night on a Saturday with my husband. I like the location because it's the first hotel you see when you drive in from the West. The guy that checked us in was friendly and polite! This doesn't happen often in Kelowna...

We were put in a regular room with one queen (even though I asked for 2 beds). There was a giant foot print on the bathroom floor and the toilet had been used and not flushed. The AC was on high and the room was freezing. I called front desk and said I was a bit grossed out and freezing and I was wondering if I could move to another room. There were no more rooms available so we had to stay in the one we had. Oh well. It was clean except for the bathtub. There is mildew in the tiles and the bathtub is gross.

We were really tired and didn't feel like sitting in the restaurant so we ordered room service. My pasta was cold. I thought it was weird that the food wasn't brought into the room for us. My husband brought in the plates one at a time and they weren't covered - probably why they were cold...I think that restaurant needs to learn a bit about room service. Also, don't expect the food to be tasty, make sure you ask for salt.

You can tell it's not a new hotel but it's clean (except the bathroom). I have definitely stayed in better holiday inns, next time I come to Kelowna I will try to stay elsewhere, but it wasn't THAT bad. At least they had TV and free high speed Internet.

Large, modern Holiday Inn on the edge of Westbank, a location that avoids the considerable hassle involved in getting in, out, or across Kelowna. This hotel does everything a Holiday Inn should so, but the adjacent Boston Pizza House offers both a better and a cheaper alternative to the hotel’s own restaurant.

As a matter of fact, I'm sitting in the hotel at this location (Westbank) as I write this! Upon checking in, my husband happened to ask if they had any upgrades available. The staff person clicked around on her computer a bit and asked the manager if "it was OK to upgrade this Gold Member". The manager said, "Sure!" and they didn't tell us what they upgraded us to...but when we arrived at the room, we were PLEASANTLY SURPRISED that they had given us one of their spa suites with a large jetted tub and a fireplace. I was oh so happy as I have to spend the day here as my husband is working. It made my four days here much more pleasant! Also, there are at least 3 good places to eat within walking distance -- Fogg and Sudds, Boston Pizza, and a Dairy Queen if you want quick and simple. Everyone from the staff at the hotel to the staff at the restaurants (including Dairy Queen!) is very friendly and welcoming. We would definitely stay here again, given the opportunity!

The double queen size bedroom was spacious enough for me and my husband. The beds are OK but not the most comfortable; they need some upgrading soon. There was an interesting pillow menu to choose from ie. firm to soft. There was not cooler to use in the room. All the staff seem pretty friendly.

The only drawback for the average traveller is the location. Westbank in not in Kewlona. The hotel is about a ten minute drive from downtown Kewlona. However, that is not a problem if you have a car.

There is a restaurant/pub adjacent to the hotel; Fogg and Suds. There is also a Boston Pizza and a Dairy Queen right next to it.
