nice hotel set in a very quite village but so disappointed with the restaurant.
we were expecting rustic home made cooking after a lovely long walk within the pyrenees but was so disappointed with the food which was average only. So looking forward to the Basque cheeses after dinner only to be served wafer thin processed looking cheese slices. breakfast was also uninviting and included toasted stale baguette slices and one squashed croissant each. we were in a room in the older part of the hotel which was reasonable but overlooked a bank and outdoor building. The surrounding areas nearby Banca village are beautfull and we plan to revisit in the future but unfortunately will not be rebooking at this hotel.

Room Tip: ask for a room in the newer wing and check the window view.

Nice small hotel, deep in the Pyrenees mountains, 15 km from the border with Spain (Pamplona crossing). The hotel is a family-run establishment with friendly staff and lovely rooms in a new wing and older rooms at a lower rate in the older part of the hotel. The bed was very comfortable and the room was clean and simple but nicely presented. There was free WIFI throughout the hotel. The restaurant offers local produce and was reasonably good value for money, although it appears to be so popular with the locals that there isn't always room for the hotel guests: my advice is to make sure you book well ahead if you plan on eating at the restaurant. We did not, so we were unable to eat dinner at the hotel on the night of our arrival which was a disappointment - so we stayed especially for lunch the next day instead! The whole experience is highly recommended.

If you drive from Pamplona (Spain) to France, and don't want to drive the motorway, you drive in the Atlantic Pyreneés and you find this hotel on your way. Remote as it seems, it's still pretty full in the summer season, so book in advance! The hotel has a modern (and more expensive) wing, and an old reasonably priced wing. The comfort in the old wing isn't all that much, but it has all the modern necessities, like TV and free wi-fi. The staff is young, charming and efficient. The food is good, and the whole thing is just an experience well worth the costs - that are not so high anyway.

Room Tip: The rooms in the new section are more comfortable, have a great view, but are also more expensive.

Up a small hill in a tiny, quiet village along the river. Really, really nice family run place. The gracious and handsome son should be in a romance novel. Very good local Basque cooking -- excellent trout soup with local trout and Basque meats and cheeses. Ask for a room in the new section-- they are very modern and well designed. The older section needs help.
