Great location, is a castle from the 1500s but with all the facilities, comfortable rooms, games area, chess, playing cards, 1 minute ski bus stop, good food, friendly staff, price ok. great location for skiing and for summer vacation.

Qauint , interesting hotel (Old Castle) which is midway between Kirchberg and Kitzbuhel. We were a group of 5 (older) guys on a skiing trip and booked fairly late so we were put in single rooms which were on the top floor (there is a lift). These were very basic and in fact we could not get into the bath which was in a small space in a corner with a hand held shower attachment over it!....We ended up using the shower in the nearby sauna (separate building across the courtyard) which was not really convenient. We did see one of the more regular rooms on the lower floors and these appeared to be fine (with regular sized baths!!)
However, the staff at the hotel were very friendly and we were able to get a drink at the bar late into the early hours. Breakfast was basic but as expected for the the budget and evening meals were always good and wine choice excellent. Location was quiet with great views and there was a regular ski bus to the Fleckenbahn lift (Kirchberg) only 10 minutes away. We also had a car and it took about 7 minutes to the main car park at the bottom of the Hannenkahm cable car in Kitzbuhel.
In summary, this is a good hotel for those on a budget, providing easy access to the surrounding area. It is very different to the normal commercially minded, much more expensive hotels.

Room tip: Don't go for a top floor single room as they are very basic

Stayed there one night, but would have loved to stay longer. The castle is claimed to be 1000y old, but obviously redone many times since than. Even so the rooms, halls and entire atmosphere is great.
Good service and friendly staff that gave great advice on local activities.
Will come back

Very interesting place. Castle with 550 years history. Very recommend to every one. Super experience of local arhitecture and traditions! The location was great, the room was very comfortable, especially the beds!

Stayed here skiing a long time ago. Fantastic gem of a luxury hotel which is actually a castle. The Hollywood film star, Robert Redford, stayed here whilst filming 'Downhill Racer'. Si you're in exalted company. And check out the English 'Big Ben' pub while you're in Kitzbuhl. And do the Hannenkahm cable car too.

Room tip: Specify a room in the main castle rather than one of the annexed properties (good though they are, from past experience).
