The Loch Leven Hotel was in an excellent location for us, travelling north to Skye from our home in Cumbria. Very welcoming staff, stunning views from the front of house and also very dog friendly, which suited us well as we travel with our two golden retrievers. Good walk by the loch side to exercise them and to take in the surrounding scenery. Dinner was excellent, as was breakfast.
As regards the previous comment, we also stayed in Room 8. I agree the rooms at the back are not as scenic as the ones overlooking the loch side, but we only used it for sleeping as we sat in the residents lounge with our dogs after dinner. We also discovered that the kitchen fan was incredibly noisy outside our bedroom window once we retired for the night, so my husband popped downstairs to ask them to turn it off. The kitchen staff had finished for the night and obviously the last out had inadvertently left it on. It was turned off straight away, problem solved and we enjoyed a quiet, comfortable and peaceful night !
