La Buvette is massively overrated. The food is fine, but the sort of fare you'd expect from high street chain restaurants for around a third of the price.

We celebrated a family birthday in the courtyard of the restaurant on Saturday night, and though our spirits were high & we'd have had a good night no matter where we were, the dour & slow waiting staff and overpriced & uninspiring menu left much to be desired.

We won't be coming back.

We were a party of 6 on a Friday Evening and the place was buzzing , we were seated up against the window which was perfect as the weather was quire warm, and the breeze from the windows was very welcome, interesting menu , several of us chose the Liver , mine was good but not brilliant, all the other guests enjoyed their meals, prompt and efficient service, however the 12.5% service charge on a 300 quid bill stuck in ones craw somewhat ....why do Reaturants south of Watford think this is acceptable practice...it isnt, i consider myself a generous tipper and would have profferd £25 without prompting....it does leave a harsh finish to an otherwise very pleasant dinner

Went here for lunch. I'd have called the food satisfactory if it had been served in a pub for half the price.

The service was very poor though. It was very slow, the wrong dishes were brought and the waiters were clumsy and with the grace you expect to see from school dinner ladies rather than waiters in an upmarket French restaurant.

Although there was nothing fundamentally wrong, it's not somewhere you'd want to go for any sort of special occasion, and it's very very overpriced for what it is.

We spent a most charming saturday lunch at La Buvette - the temperature was 32 degrees but we ate al fresco under a canopy - in a charming courtyard. I had the chicken terrain followed by steamed salmon and celeriac roumalade My dining partner had the gem lettuce salad and the boudin blanc! both meals were delicious and took us back to many enjoyable holidays we have had n Provence! We shared the peanut butter ice cream and apple sorbet to cool down and had a delightful french chardonnay ! this was a perfect summer meal on a perfect summers day

We were celebrating a retirement and decided to try out La Buvette for 14 people. The staff could not have been friendlier and we had a really good night out.

We selected the Prix Fixe menu with three choices for every course:- Gaspacho, a slad and chicken Terrine for starters. For the main course the choice was Boudin Blanc, steamed salmon and crepe gratin with spinach. I had the gaspacho, which was excellent, and the crepe which was fine...but not outstanding. Desserts were brie de Meaux, ginger bread ice cream and sapple sorbet.

The menu was ideal for a hot evening and the house wines were very reasonable.

This is a good local restaurant with a taste of France.
