Top Lads at Red-Chilli,
Seriously talented Chef!!
The service & food were on point.
To anyone who is thinking about making a trip down to Red-Chilli.. I would definitely advise you try out the "Chicken Naga" and/or the "Roshun Wala Murgh"
Excellent job fellas.

“Best dining experience in Sheen.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2014 via mobile

Red chilli is by far one of the best restaurants I have been to in awhile!
The staff are all welcoming and humble, there is no disappointment in service.
The food is wonderful, I had the Dham Dham Lamb as a main and the Roshun wala murgh as a starter, it was excellent.
I would recommend everyone who loves a curry to visit Red Chilli.

“Trying to be different and failing”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 1, 2014

On a visit, I went looking for the best rated curry house in Richmond and after a recent visit, I was most disappointed and found that this restaurant was at best - "ordinary" or a bog standard curry house trying to present itself a bit differently so I use the word "experimental". All the marketing and reviews suggested that this is an "upmarket new generation contemporary" and I suspect that maybe a few of the reviews are maybe not totally accurate so I feel that I must underrate this to balance it out.

The good - very (almost overly) attentive service, spacious, decor is of the contemporary style. Prices were average - 7-95 / 8-95 / main speciality non-king prawn dish. Some of the dishes were different e.g pumpkin side dish was excellent and an extensive selection of fish dishes is unusual and very welcome - e.g. the salman tikka jalfrezi was quite tasty.

The bad - food is just average and perhaps experimental and everything seems overly soaked in red food colouring and ultimately, next morning, the small room did not go well. The gurhka chicken was hugely disappointing with a watery consistency, 80% onion, no ginger as promised, no taste other than the explosive occasional green chilli but worst of all was the tiny slivers of chicken which must have been profitable to sell. Poppodoms were quite stale as well - another indicator for me of a good curry house. Restaurant is big and was pretty empty so cannot fairly judge atmosphere. Looked like a couple of locals were in who are perhaps attracted to this being a bit different. Certainly, you would not come here for a special occasion.

i think this place should charge a little bit more and make some genuinely high quality and tasty dishes and cut down on red food dye and finish the job like many curry house have done as part of the "contemporary revolution" in the last 15 years.

The experience left us feeling flat and disappointed so I really have to rate this as a poor and certainly not worth making any journey for and certainly not deserving of the no. 1 slot in Richmond which is probably a statistical quirk of the meagre 7 reviews. The other thing, this is located some distance of Richmond town centre, in East Sheen - a quiet backwater so even more suspicious of its no. 1 rating. Sorry guys - but you simply dont make the grade.

“First class food and service”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014

I checked this place out on tripadvisor and gave it a go.

It lived up to the reviews - this place serves amazing food.

I visited on a Wednesday lunch time and it wasn't exactly buzzing - all I can say is that it's a pity that so many others in Sheen were lunching in the wrong place!

The menu offers a wide range of dishes from Nepal, India and Bangladesh. They all looked very tempting and I wanted to choose many dishes! I settled on Gurkha Lamb - a rich dish in a tomato sauce with such depth and complexity that it was simply wonderful - off the scale.

This may sound silly but I always consider the humble onion bhaji a good test and leveller of Indian restaurants. The texture of the onion, the density of the gram flour binding and most importantly the spice blend. The onion was silky smooth and had been pre-cooked, there was minimal 'claggy' gram flour and the spicing was unbelievable - the first time I've encountered whole curry leaves in a bhaji. They rocked!

Those dining with me were all well impressed and thoroughly enjoyed their meals. The waiters were jovial and engaged appropriately. We were offered complimentary drinks at the end of the meal.

Sheen is not a place I am in the habit of visiting. That may change. An excellent restaurant - first class.
