Wonderful value for money for a Rugby weekend. Excellent rooms, car parking and the breakfast. Easy access to the train and Richmond high street. And the Red Cow pub is accross the road and fabulous Dragons Den chinese restaurant just minutes walk away.

What a lovely find.Had a lovely room with a conservatory opening off it . The postion of the Hotel was close to all the village shopping, walk to train station and not far from the river and deligtful pubs. The staff were pleasant and helpful, full breakfast was included in rate.

After a mistake with our reservation at a nearby hotel, we unexpectedly found ourselves staying at the 'Richmond Inn Hotel', and were pleasantly surprised. The hotel is fabulously located in the heart of Richmond, just minutes away from High Street shopping and the River Thames. The rooms are spacious, immaculately clean (!!), and well-appointed - though, make sure to reserve something in the courtyard (as I imagine that the street facing rooms could be noisier). If you are a soft-sleeper like me, you might want to make sure that your windows are closed during the early-hours/morning as it can get quite loud with all of the low-flying airplanes - though for a toddler, it was the perfect location for our son to 'plane spot'. Breakfast was impressive, as both continental and full were served (and considering that it is included in the price of the room, is a major plus). Again, great location, great price ... :))

Stayed here as I was attending a sporting event in the Richmond rugby grounds. The location was therefore perfect. About a 5min walk from the train/tube station. 5-10 min walk from the centre of Richmond, its shops and restaurants. So location was excellent!

I stayed here last year so was more than happy to return. I cant comment on price as the hotel was paid for me by work. I highly doubt it can be called 4 star though. Reception experience was fine, no problems and gave us extra pillows etc when asked.

The room was ok but I thought it was a bit cramped. Not much room to move around but it was fine for our purposes. The room was on the top floor at the front of the hotel and the street noise was audible. Didnt really affect me but could still be heard.

Breakfast was included and was very good. Could get full fry until 9.30 and cereal, juices, buns etc until 10.

Would stay again for the same event but not sure I would pay for it out of my own pocket. I dont agree its 4 star but I didnt encounter any problems.

The hotel was proper, run by, so it seemed, Polish and Indian people. The hotel was very clean, good service, very friendly employees.
For London/Richmond terms, 95 pounds a night is not expensive, but it is still far from cheap. I think it is a good deal though.

Planes really are a nuisance the first night (but everywhere in the area you will have this situation of course). You get used to it (a bit).

The free internet is a good service, so take your laptop with wireless or wire connection.

The bathroom is very nice and clean.

Location is great. 10 min. walk from Richmond railway/underground. 30/45 minutes to City center of London with the underground.

Richmond center is lovely with good food, entertainment and of course pubs.

We stayed for six nights in June 2008. The location is good, an easy walk from shops and variety of decent restaurants and the station, and most of the staff were friendly and helpful. There is free parking and we enjoyed free public internet access.

It is described as a four star hotel. Like other Tripadvisor commentators, we do feel this rating is unjustified. Perhaps the inspectors were unduly impressed by the excellent lift, the air conditioning, and the marble and granite bathrooms (ignoring the cracked floor tiles). If it is a to be a four star hotel, it should be judged by those standards, and it failed. The booking procedures and responses to questions were casual in the extreme. Our double room was awkwardly shaped, though large enough overall, but two lights were not working. One was repaired the next day – the other never worked during our stay. We had to ask for a second bedside table and a second chair. The bed was firm and the pillows (we had to ask for a fourth) were extremely hard; we were surprised to find an acrylic blanket. Storage space was idiosyncratic – a minuscule wardrobe with flimsy plastic hangers; there was one cupboard with a shelf, one without, and another which would have held a mini-bar had there been one; objects could fall down the hole at the back of this. There was a small television.

One the first night we had just two small and flimsy towels. The numbers increased during our stay but there was never a decent bath-sized towel, let alone a bath sheet or robe. Neutrogena toiletries are ok, but not luxurious, and the soaps were miniscule; we were however allowed two on some days - one for the basin and one for the bath. Tooth mugs were sometimes non-existent (and not even supplied when we asked for them at reception) and sometimes the lightest plastic disposables imaginable that fell over if you put a toothbrush in them.

Breakfast was served cheerfully and promptly. However the muesli was measly with hardly any fruit and no other additions, and the juice was far from freshly squeezed. At no time did we see a manager.

This is not a bad hotel, but the management appear to have no idea of what is expected of a four-star hotel, nor that it involves buying something other than the most basic bedding, fittings, toiletries, breakfast ingredients and so on. Either they should upgrade themselves, or they should accept downgrading.

Pleasant staff. Good location. Nice breakfast. Immaculate rooms.Comfortable and convenient.
But
Some of the rooms are very cramped. In ours it was impossible to sit at the desk because there was too little space between it and the bed
Towels were thin and cheap and small.
There are not enough breakfast tables so some guests had to queue for their breakfast.
The faxi firm recommended by the hotel charged our party three different rates for the same journey. (We refused to pay the £4 difference on the most expensive.
I suppose I think that if a Hotel is meant to be a Four star and charges such high rates I expect more of a treat than this.

  • Liked — Immaculate
  • Disliked — Penny pinching cheap inadequate towels. (It sounds petty but it really rankled,)
