“Very popular, nice food but expensive”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 20, 2013

This restaurant is very popular and can be noisy. The food is very nice but the dishes are expensive. The service is speedy, often to the point of being rushed.

“Excellent Japanese restaurant”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2013

My 23 year old daughter and her boyfriend asked us to go with them as they love it so much and they are not wrong. Fabulous in every way. As we entered the staff remembered them, even knew their names, and gave us a free dish. Best Japanese restaurant I've been to in England. It's definitely going to be a regulator choice from now on.

“Not the best Japanese restaurant around...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013 via mobile

I enjoyed my seafood fried noodles, but I didn't like the dessert at all. Portions were a bit poor and service wasn't perfect even if I must say that they served us quickly.

“Roll with it”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

The food is delicious, fresh and always consistent. Whether or not this is truly authentic Japanese cuisine is not something I could claim to know but it's great regardless. The menu could be slightly difficult to interpret if you aren't familiar with the cuisine. Bento dishes are served in a tray with compartments of rice, dumplings and salad. I enjoy a chicken teriyaki bento. Maki are the sushi rolls you may have seen in the supermarkets but I should mention that the difference in quality and flavour is night and day compared to such offerings. Futo maki are large sushi rolls which are also nice. Inside out rolls come highly recommended (california, norway or ebi tempura are very nice). The manager is usually in and is very friendly and hospitable so I'm sure he'd be happy to help you choose if you are unsure. This restaurant has become a family favourite for us due to the diverse menu, delicious food and friendly owner. Dessert options are limited compared to the main menu; I'd recommend filling up on sushi instead.
It's always a good idea to book as this restaurant is popular.

“Not authentic at all”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 21, 2012

I am Japanese and it is such a shame that they sell it as Japanese restaurant. It is not authentic at all(The owner is the same as the chinese restaurant in front). I tried a few times but nothing is real Japanese, it is more Chinese influenced. I heard Sushi is good but the quality of Sashimi and Sushi was terrible. It is a shame that they have a kind of Tatami style area(not real tatami but you sit down in a chair style on the floor), which is child-friendly area(Easy for parents who have kids constantly moving like ours). I would not go back there again and please don't think that is Japanese food!!!
