Richmond Gate Hotel
Reviewed July 6, 2013

Stayed in the peak of Wimbledon tennis fortnight. Plus points were location, value, room cleanliness and comfortable bed. Negatives were totally empty mini bar & below par lounge bar experience. Better management could make this place hum. At present one is left with an underwhelming overall impression which is a shame.

Thank you for writing a review. I was pleased that you liked the location, room cleanliness and comfortable bed. The mini bars are not stocked in the standard bedrooms, but a sign is placed in each mini saying to contact reception should you wish your minibar to be stocked. You have said that the bar/lounge experience was below par, but unfortunately have not indicted why you believe this to be the case so is difficult for me to action any specific changes. I will however review this to ensure we are meeting guest expectations. I hope that the positive points will ensure that you stay with us again.

I stayed one night in this hotel in June and thought it was excellent. The food was very nice, rooms were comfortable, the staff were excellent, a perfect stay. The location was great, just beside the park and a few minutes walk to the shops!

room was small, but clean, bed was small, bathroom nice and clean....Quiet location, swimming pool clean and not crowded.I expected more for price what i paid. But Richmond is really nice area and you need only 10 min walking from hotel to center Richmond.Only if you are going out and coming back after midnight----you have to knocked on the door if you want to enter in hotel!!!

Thank you for writing a review and I am very pleased that you had an enjoyable stay at the hotel. The Executive, Four Poster & Junior Suite bedrooms are larger than the standard rooms and would suggest you book one of these room types if you require more space. The hotel entrance door is locked at night to ensure both guest and staff safety, but the reception desk opposite the main entrance door is staffed 24hours so there is always someone there to let you access the hotel.

This hotel is a real gem, one to keep quiet from others so you can keep it for yourself! A great location - a pleasant 15 minutes walk from the tube.. spacious rooms .... welcoming public rooms... good food ... good bar. ... with great staff - they're very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. The price was great too - I'd looked around for days on end before I found this hotel. expect to pay double elsewhere for this quality hotel. A 4 star hotel at 3 star prices. We will definitely be back.

I have just returned from a stay at the Richmond Gate Hotel, I would definitely recommend it to anyone. The hotel is in a beautiful location, the views as you take the 5 minute walk to the town are specular, Richmond Park is also only a stones throw away. The hotel was very clean, the staff were lovely, nothing was any bother and the food was excellent and plenty off it! The hotel has a wonderful garden which we were able to sit out in and they also have on site leisure facilities, pool, Jacuzzi and sauna. Our room was large with a beautiful bathroom and most important the bed was very comfortable. I would definitely go back and bring the whole family.

Room Tip: Any, they were all lovely.

I was very pleased to read that you enjoyable your stay at the hotel and that the team looked after you well. The enclosed gardens are a very pleasant relaxing area at the hotel as long as the English weather is kind.

Thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Richmond Gate last week. Was on a brief visit with a large group and the hotel staff were very attentive and welcoming. The quiet garden to rear was lovely Location was great - right on the edge of the tranquil Richmond Park with splendid open views over the city and a pleasant walk down into Richmond town centre with its many shops and boutiques. The room was very spotless and bed exceptionally comfortable, I had to leave early for a flight and sadly missed out an excellent breakfast which my colleagues had. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to you!!!

Room Tip: I had a lovely room overlooking the garden . Room 204
