Richmond Gate Hotel

We stayed at this Hotel during the Christmas period and our bedroom was very good. This Hotel is let down by its breakfast with poor choice, poor quality food with sub standard service. The breakfast was not upto 4 star standard.

True hospitality in this hidden gem, steps away from the Royal Richmond Park with beautiful panoramic of the Thames. This hotel is not a luxurious complex but the staff and management make of it a lovely place where to relax and run away of London madness.
Attentive service from arrival to departure. The staff is willing to help at all the time and remembering your preferences during your stay. Small details like bringing to your table your favorite products on second day and during the rest of your stay for breakfast e.g. margarine or skimmed milk without asking is a nice touch.
The manager welcomed us with a genuine smile and gave us a real treat in hospitality that made us feel really special and comfortable getting our feedback and resolving an issue that we had with the room temperature. Nice variety in bar menu, food and drinks. Very nice pies. Ideal pool for kids.

Room Tip: Garden view to enjoy a relaxing stay

We stayed here for our wedding, for 2 nights, as we were getting married in Richmond Park. We had a Junior Suite which was amazing. Every suite room is decorated in a different style and we were able to view it beforehand to request the one we wanted which was great. An even nicer surprise was receiving a free bottle of champagne from the Catering Team as a gift, waiting for us upon our return from the wedding. The staff were very polite and helpful, we would definitely recommend this hotel. One slight downside was that the room service food was VERY expensive. That said, the pure luxury of the Junior Suite made up for this. We would not hesitate to stay in the Richmond Gate Hotel again.

Room Tip: Pay a bit extra and go for one of the suites, it is definitely worth it.

I have stayed at the Richmond Gate on business several times and return because I know what to expect, an ideal place to stay while in the area on business. I would not stay there for pleasure unless superior properties were all fully booked.

What makes this hotel better than average are the long term staff. Familiar faces and even staff who remember me from previous stays make up for their colleagues' shortcomings.

While the rooms are clean and fully equipped, some of them lack ergonomic logic and you will only have the ideal experience the first one or two nights. The latter stems from the fact that most staff are less consistent than MacDonald's employees and would seem to need similarly detailed instructions on how to do a proper job. My minibar was only fully stocked the first night and afterwards it was a case of hit or miss on whether I would still have the same number of towels and other amenities the following days, whether staff would manage to remember instructions or prepare room service meals the same way twice.

If management were to introduce a service consistency scheme, most issues would be remedied very easily and at relatively little cost.

Room Tip: Make sure to get a room away from service areas (storage, etc.) as those will get noisy very early i...

Generally nice and comfortable. Very small twin rooms for sharing. Good health-leisure facilities. Service a bit slow and forgetful. Fine, just a bit flat with nothing to really shout about.

We used the Richmond Gate as our preffered hotel for ourselves and our guests for our wedding this November.

Prior to our stay the reservaions department were very helpful in keeping us up to date with the list of who had booked using our booknig reference.

The wedding at Pembroke Lodge was amazing and the the service we recieved at The Richmond Gate was also top quality. Beds are extremely comfortable, breakfast was very good (no beans on the buffet though!) and good facilities at the Cedars health club.

Many thanks to all the staff at the Richmond Gate who helped to make our Wedding weekend so special.

This hotel is located in the city of Richmond Upon Thames. Only twelve miles from central London via the Tube or Taxi. This hotel is a splendid retreat away from the noise and crowds of Central London, yet close enough to all that the city offers.

Just across the street from the Richmond Gate is Richmond Park. Once the park was a private hunting ground for King Henry VIII, and is still stocked with deer and other game that now live in harmony with man. The park is ideal for an early morning stroll, a bicycle ride, or a jaunt on horseback.

Room Tip: Ask for an upper floor room overlooking the Thames River.
