Room OK but not particularly splendid. Did not have time to try spa. Security at reception poor with my registration form left on the counter to be read easily by others.

I recently returned to the Richmond Gate Hotel with my Mum for another long weekend. We love staying at this hotel, it's like home from home. The staff are always extremely helpful and nothing is too much trouble. The hotel has bags of charm and character with a very homely feel. All of the different rooms we have stayed in have been of an excellent standard with all mod cons. Ten out of ten for breakfast and plenty to choose from.
The hotel is an excllent location with great free parking which is a bonus. Two minutes walk from the hotel you will find stunning views of the river thames and just down the hill are the lovely terraced gardens leading down to the river where you can jump on a river boat to Hampton Court.
While we were there we decided to take a shopping trip up to the West End and opted for public transport. Richmond Station is quick to get to and provides an excellent underground / overground rail link into central London. One final thing that is greast about this hotel is the leisure facilities, after a busy day of sighseeing and shopping we had a lovely time chilling in the jacuzzi and steam room.
We are already plannig a return visit..

Richmond Gat Hotel is situated in a lovely location. The hotel itself is in really good decorative order and extremely clean.

The facilities such as the pool and spa area are bright and welcoming.

The staff are extremely helpful and nice and I would recommend a stay at this hotel. The breakfast was also delicious. The bed was the most largest and most comfortable I have ever slept in

I stayed in the hotel with my husband for two nights, it was a great experience.
We had dinner on the first night and the food was amazing! The welcoming at the Hotel and the service at Reception was exceptional but quite different in the morning in the conservatory room for breakfast. Breakfast was good but service was average comparing with the standards of the previous night for dinner. Waitresses quite indifference and unfriendly. breakfast was good but the whole order on the second day was completely wrong as we needed to ordered instead of a buffet.
My daughter who is 9 years old joined us on the second night, we paid an extra for her to stay but we were very disappointed to find out that kids were not allow at all the times in the pool. I think this is the only country were kids are not welcome in hotels. Check twice before you book if you are a family as you won't be able to use he facilities as a family.

This hotel is really fab, my husband and I are lucky to travel to many locations and hotels, but this was one of the best. We arrived Friday afternoon, and the drive into Richmond alone is beautiful especially as it was 20 degrees, we were greeted with very friendly service and given a perfect room overlooking their hotel gardens. Once settled we walked across the road to the Thames and walked through the beautiful gardens and along the river. We later used the swimming facilities in the hotel which were excellent. On the Saturday night there was a wedding in the gardens which was too noisy for us, I rang reception and we were immediately relocated to the junior suite which is virtually a studio apartment. Breakfast in the hotel is delicious and altogether this was a very memorable break in a stunning location.

Room Tip: Enjoy a Friday evening cocktail in the gardens!!

I stayed here for (presumably) the same wedding as the previous contributor. The location and views are very nice, one can't fault that. But the rooms are small, and you pretty much need a sherpa to find your way around and carry the luggage up and down the stairs. It was also very stuffy everywhere, making me want to throw windows open.

I thought it was rather expensive - they want £16.50 per head for breakfast, (if you decide you want it on the day), they're having a laugh! Bring our own stuff and put it in their fridge.
I must say, the staff were helpful and pleasant, I have no problem with them.

we chose this hotel because of it's proximity to richmond park, where our friends wedding reception was being held. Check in was quick and friendly and we were given directions to our room - a map would be helpful as it seemed to take ages to find and the stairs were never ending. Thank god we only had luggage for one night !!. The room was at the top of the building in a loft conversion. We had a view of the river and the room was very modern and clean. As we were attending a wedding getting back to the room was a challenge and not recommended after a few drinks and in heels. The bed was comfy with good quality linen. The breakfast was great with a good choice of food. I would stay here again but in a different room location.
