This pub restaurant is excellent but a little pricey.

VERY expensive drink.

Arrived to lots of dirty tables. Staff took forever to clear the mess.

Good atmosphere and good drink, however.

Very nice pub, at the top of Richmond Hill, opposite the American University. Some nice fire places, and comfy seats.

I'd heard from a friend that this was the place in Richmond to come for a Sunday lunch. The food definitely didn't disappoint and I'm dreaming of it right now. The lamb and the beef were delicious as were the veg and the Yorkshire pudding though the roast potatoes weren't fab. Others at the table had fish and chips and were very impressed - I kept stealing chips and they were deliciously crunchy and moreish.
The only thing was, because we were 5 we weren't in a particularly snug table - there was nothing wrong with it at all, just would have been nicer to be snug! Also, again, nothing wrong with this, but a little startled at the number of babies there, it was like a crèche! Wouldn't say it was the place to go for a peaceful, romantic lunch but definitely good for families and somewhere I would return to. Glad to have it in Richmond.
