“Oh what a night”
Reviewed April 10, 2014

We had one of the most amazing dining experiences at Al Boccon Di'Vino - no menu you were just asked if there was anything you did not eat and then it was on - the food just kept on coming - one great dish after another - and just when you thought you could not eat another thing out came a whole suckling pig which was paraded through the restaurant before being taken off and carved with the head presented to one of the diners who was celebrating her birthday day. And by the end of the night you felt as if the people sitting closest to you were long lost friends. Can thoroughly recommend Al Boccon for a great night ou.

“Best Italian food and atmosphere outside of Italy”
Reviewed April 7, 2014

An excellent place for those that relish the Italian experience of food but are not in Italy.
This is the best meal I have had outside of Italy, and beats a fair few for the same price in Italy too.
It’s not a cheap option, but if you want quality, and you are relaxed about there being no menu at all, this is the place to go bar none.
You will need to book ahead, but it is worth the wait.

“Another great meal and experience. Thanks Ricardo and Simona”

Visited many times. always excellent food so many good courses ,fresh seasonal ingredients. Superb wine list. Cant be beaten for a gourmet italian experience. As always go hungry and relax and go with the flow of 12 plus courses over an evening with friends and copious good wine, tignanello, barolo amarone at very good prices.

“Fabulous dining experience”
Reviewed March 31, 2014 via mobile

As a special birthday treat, my partner brought me here for lunch on Saturday. It was perfect!

This is typical Italian style dining - don't expect to get there, eat and be out within an hour. Once you arrive, you're there for the long haul.

There is no menu and all diners are served the same, which actually creates quite a unique atmosphere as everybody is experiencing the same tastes and flavours at the same time. All the food tastes beautifully fresh and is prepared with excellence. The house red, a Primitivo, is delicious - we managed to polish off 2 bottles between us in the 3 and a half hours we were there.

At a £140 per couple, it's not a particularly cheap lunch out, but worth every penny for a special occasion. I highly recommend that you try it, but book well in advance!

“Excellent but let down by poor main course and deserts”
Reviewed March 31, 2014

We had heard about the restaurant in Richmond with it's large number of courses served according to the chef's available produce as there is no menu, all for a fixed price excluding wine of £45 pp. It's a small restaurant holding about 30 and tables are quite close and booking is essential. Lunch is only served on the last 4 days of each month, otherwise open for dinner.
We didn't have wine ( by glass or starting at £25 bottle and quite nice as we sampled some kindly offered by the patron) and had beer and sparkling water. We were served several plates of antipasti, salamis, hams, artichokes, salads, shrimps, scallop, pasta, around 10 dishes one after another which was excellent. Which is why the main dish of lamb cutlets and mash was so disappointing - fried instead of grilled so some were a little tough, pity.
Also the desert dishes were disappointing and consisted of strawberries and marscapone and some small pieces of cake.
All in all everything was really excellent until the main and deserts - such a shame.
