We went just before Christmas, and I think they had hurriedly converted an upstairs store into another room. It looked ok, but there was no hand rail just a bit of old hand rail support sticking out of the wall, which I got caught on, and even if they hadn't had the time to put up a new rail, it would not have taken 2 minutes to remove the old bit.
That apart, the food and the service were good. There isn't a lot of choice if, like me, you don't like seafood but the steak was very good. The rest of our party did like seafood, and said it was very good too. It's very french in that vegetables and bread are extras and I thought they were expensive nad not a lot of choice. Other prices are in line with the area.

From the setting to the staff, this quirky French is just a great independent of which Richmond is lucky to possess. From the different "cidres" to coin a phrase to the great galettes if you are just popping in for a quick lunch, it's a fun place. Yes it can be quirky but that's the charm, it's French!! Great steak frites as well and good portions. The snails a are also wonderful. Recommended as one of Richmonds top places.

Lovely crepes and galettes, it is the ideal place if you want a full meal or just a lite one, you can have a crepe and a beer or a full dinner/lunch with lovely Breton cider or excellent wines.
Nice atmosphere and lovely service from the maily french staff, Francois is fantastic, worth the trip alone. You need to book.

Very surprised to read negative reviews of this restaurant. We last went there about 15 months ago and had not been able to return until last weekend (8th Dec) The last time we had Italian foodies with us and they thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Our latest visit ellicited the same response from our four well travelled and experienced companions. Service good and food excellent.

The food is french, as are most of the staff, but don't let that put you off. The food and wine are of a very good standard and its not that expensive.
