“An absolute gem!”
Reviewed July 13, 2010

This little hotel is wonderful! My partner and I arrived after a longer than anticipated journey (thanks to the sat nav!) to a warm welcome from Nelson, the hotel owner. Despite it being 1245am, Nelson was happy to get us a drink and make us sandwiches. The service in this hotel is second to none, probably because Nelson is from the US, and the attention to detail is excellent. There's a lap top offering free internet in reception (great for checking what the Welsh weather has in store), robes and slippers in the rooms and a lovely selection of perfumes in the bar toilet! Not what you'd normally expect from a small hotel in the middle of Wales. Our room was lovely, and the whole place is furnished to a very high standard throughout. We also enjoyed a meal in the hotel restaurant which was, again, of a high standard. I can highly recommend this hotel, although part of me doesn't want to because it's a great little secret!

I am a Venue Finder and book Hotels all around the World, we were joining some friends staying locally from Germany. We booked to stay at the Meadowsweet, for 1 night. We we arrived outside I was a little worried, however that soon changed. The Hotel is amazing, Boutique style Bar & Restaurant, and we stayed in the Four Poster Room 3, the staff were also in a league of their own, Frendly, Helpfull, and Polite.
We liked it so much I want to go back

We chose this hotel via Trip Advisor and were delighted. The staff and owners made us feel most welcome and couldn't have done more to make our stay any easier. The room was spacious with beautiful views and the communal areas were furnished to a very high standard making a plush and inviting environment. What made us most happy was how welcome they made our one year old - nothing was a problem - high chair always ready for us in the dining room, toys to play with etc. The hotel restaurant was great and very nicely decorated with good quality food. It may cost a little more to stay here but it's worth it.

We stayed at the Meadowsweet Hotel for 1 night after completing the 3 peaks challenge. There was a group of 17 and we were all very tired by the time we reached the hotel.
The rooms were all very comfortable. Ours had a lovely shower which was fantasic.
We all had dinner in the restaurant which was fantastic. A great choice and all cooked to perfection.
Nelson and all his staff were most charming and attentive. I felt sorry for Nelson having to be serving at breakfast after waiting on some of us in the bar until the early hours!!

The hotel is ideally placed as a base for anyone visiting snowdonia and I will definitely stay again on my next visit.

Following a friend's recommendation we booked 5 nights in this Hotel and enjoyed ourselves so much that we stayed an extra night. Our room, which we were fortunate enough to have upgraded due to availability, was very good with wonderful views across the valley and hills. There were lots of delightful extras in the room including robes and slippers. We were also supplied with plenty of tea, coffee, water and biscuits each day. The bed was large and extremely comfortable. The only thing I would perhaps mention is that the cleaning of the room could have been a little bit better. As for the food the fact that the locals dine here speaks for itself. The quality, quantity and value were excellent. We were always asked if we required special items to go with our meals. Nothing was too much trouble. Breakfasts were freshly cooked and plentiful. We have travelled to many places in the UK and abroad and can honestly say that the service from the staff in this Hotel is some of the best we have experienced.

We chose this hotel because of its reviews, and we were not disappointed. The room was perfect, the bed extremely comfortable, and the extras a delight (two small bottles of champagne, biscuits to go with the tea or coffee, wi-fi at no cost; robe and slippers; the list goes on). Our two night stay was perfect.
The hotel is situated on a main road, and our room was in the front, but traffic dies down at night and was not a problem. We loved watching the sheep in the field across the street and walking along the town's river walk.
Lle Hari, the on site restaurant overseen by Nelson (a former NYC firefighter), was fantastic. We ate there both nights and enjoyed wonderful full breakfasts each morning. There's no need to look anywhere else to eat or stay if you are touring this part of Wales.
