Went for a High Tea for a friends 50th birthday it was very nice bit pricey but service was good and staff were quite friendly. Easy for parking

Emma, the chef, organises occasional cookery courses at the Oak & Glass. I went to the Somerset Tasting Day there and she showed us how to make everything from chutney to roast lamb with all the trimmings: every dish was made from local ingredients. I was so impressed that my boyfriend and I went on to do her Seasonal Vegetables course where six of us were shown how to make Christmas vegetables with a difference. We ate what we prepared (with an, er, side dish of turkey steak!) at the end of the evening and it was excellent.

Stayed at the B&B and ate in the restaurant on a non-themed night. Service, food and atmosphere were all excellent. I cannot praise the serving staff highly enough, which nullifies my previous review. The food as usual was sublime. We will return.

Having heard how great the Oak and Glass was, a group of us decided to have lunch there. The welcome was very pleasant and the restaurant had a lovely log fire burning. But, apart from one other couple, we were the only ones there which was disappointing as it made for no atmosphere at all. Food-wise, the starters were delicious especially the homemade soup. The Chicken salad was also delicious, the Brill though tasty and nicely presented, lacked some form of potatoes, new, mashed or chips. The duck was overcooked and the Chorzo sausage so tough it couldn't be eaten. On the plus side, the deserts were yummy. I think perhaps the restaurant leans more towards evening meals or Sunday lunch than lunches on Thursdays or Fridays during the week.
