“Absolutely awful”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 16, 2013

Absolutely disgusting. Never been treated so poorly in my life, rude, arrogant, and just plain vile. The rooms are nothing special, was made to stand in front of the entire B&B whilst eating breakfast and apologise for dropping a glass in our bedroom.

Made us pay more money for arriving late, £30 is a bit much?
Was treated very different to the entire hotel.
NOT RECOMMENDED!!!

The service was awful, they was loitering around our bedroom, incredibly rude.

Room Tip: I highly do not recommend this hotel.

We have stayed in some dire B& B's over the years but this was the most awful we have ever experienced. We have never been "greeted" so abysmally before, room was terrible , the en-suite shower room miniscule , instructions everywhere warning guests what NOT TO DO,terrible in every way. HOW DID THIS AWFUL PLACE RECEIVE 4 STARS ? Should be struck off.

Room Tip: Room 2 ghastly

We had a warm and friendly welcome from Sandie. Our room was clean and tidy and the breakfast was excellent. However, we were on the top floor to the front which was slightly noisy. We both had a good nights sleep. Jon is a character and an extremely pleasant host. Would definitely stay there again. Doris and Malcolm.

stayed for 3 nights and warmed to their hospitality...the hotel is tired and needs modernising but was comfortable and welcoming....the food was excellent and the staff were more than helpful....x
the only reason we will not be returning is we didn,t like weston...the place is tired and very boring so 3 days was far to long for a stay....just go a bit further to lyme regis and you are in pure paradise.......will be going their again..x

we arrived at what was supposed to be 4 star would not give 1 star. Should be disabled room. It was next to kitchen with no windows, no access to room with wheelchair, no access into the house, no fire exit, the en-suite was a shed attached to the room and the house needs demolishing perhaps then it will be clean. We drove from Derbyshire for a weeks stay and drove back the same day staying in Travelodge overnight. DO NOT BOOK THIS GUEST HOUSE

Room Tip: don't go

Upon pulling up to location firstly you are met with a run down and sad looking building, not helped with a scaffolding tunnel to front door, upon ringing doorbell you are greeted, I say greeted in a very loose term, I'm sorry we interrupted whatever important job that was being done, by the owner, who seems to treat you as if you were more of a pain than a paying guest, the place is dirty and instantly you get rushed over with whatever the smell in there is, not pleasant, smells more like a uncleaned old peoples home rather than guest house.

How the hell this place has 4 star rating is totally beyond me, after some very confusing and baffling parking instructions and breakfast instructions, that gave you a 45 minute window in the morning that if you missed you were clearly told you go hungry, we were shown our room!!!

Talk about a sinking heart feeling, the smell in their was atrocious, I can't even describe what it was, luckily there was a fan that we wasted half a bottle of expensive perfume spraying in front of it to mask the feisty odours. The bed sheets had remnants of dried blood and yellow bits of something on, along with hair and pubes left from previous unlucky guests, the roof had huge patches of mold/damp on it, The shower was so small it was basically unusable, I could go on, but that's the jist of it, we even had to go and buy pillow cases on the Thursday night from the 24hr tescos on the way back, just to feel easy about putting our head down.

After the realisation of the disgrace of the room, we decided that we just couldn't face staying there any longer than needs be, so we spent as long as we could walking around western front on the 1st night so as not to have to go back to room, but with a 7 year old 11pm was as long as we could stretch it, 7 am the next morning we got ourselves ready to go, with the cleanness of the rest of the place there was no way I was going to eat any food from there as the thought of it turned my stomach, so not only did we pay £160 of extremely hard earned money for 8 hours use of a dirty room, we had to pay for breakfast elsewhere.

All in all a total disappointment, I have booked with laterooms prior to this in a 3 star accommodation that totally wiped the floor with this dirty apparent 4 star guest house

Room Tip: One with big windows you can open to get some fresh air

not really sure where to start to be honest so ill start at the beginning...
first of all I must say this b&b is located in the roughest part of town not ideal for the family break we were hoping for.
situated on the main road we were absolutely gutted by the exterior (scaffolding and all. this place looked like a dive not what you would expect from the 4 star accommodation we had been lead to believe we were staying at) and if we hadn't already booked on laterooms.com we would've continued to drive as far away from this place as possible.
we parked outside and headed for the front door. Once inside we were greeted if you can call it that by the owners wife. (best description here is if you have ever seen monsters inc I think her name is ros?) there was no friendly greeting and we were made to feel like we had put her out by staying. once inside it became apparent this wasn't going to be the stay we were hoping for it had an almost 'nursing home' feeling and the undeniable smell that you get in a nursing home. She went on to explain the baffling breakfast instructions (I have to explain the breakfast room was no bigger than a normal living room and there was a table set up for three it didn't take a genius to work out where we would be sitting but none the less our host seemed very put out that 'someone' had put the wrong table number out) she went on to explain that we had a 45 minute window for breakfast and that if we didn't make it there would be no breakfast. I was then told to move my car so that her husband could have his space back and explained that I could move my vehicle over to the other side of the road where there were more car parking spaces (I chose to move my car 3 inches the other way so as not to upset her husband) She then took payment (in hindsight we should've run away then) my fiancé paid and after our very stern talk about our key and how to use it we were shown to our room. given the fact we couldn't get that smell out of our noses the first thing we did is shut the door put the fan on and spray half a bottle of perfume! (you should also note that there were no windows) when we looked around the room we were just gutted neither of us wanting to speak to the other as we were just absolutely gutted. the room was filthy. there were PUBES on the bed and dried blood on the sheets yes DRIED BLOOD. The ceiling was covered in mould and the shower was literally the right size for a doll safe to say we wore shoes the entire time and used our daughters blanket instead of the blood stained sheets provided for us. we were however provided with a big folder that explained how important customer service was to them......HA HA!! what a joke. we couldn't wait to get out of the room and wondered the 20 minutes or so in to town. we wanted to leave however was informed that we couldn't have our money back and if we wanted to leave then 'fine' but they would definitely not be refunding any money. we spent the whole evening wondering the streets with our 7 yr old daughter as not to go back to the room. we managed to get pillow cases from tescos so we were able to sleep that night. we left early the next morning and had to spend even more money when we went to the whetherspoons there for breakfast given the fact they couldn't clean the rooms correctly we were not going to dice with death and try there breakfast. if this review stops one person going there then at least this was worth writing!! for the record my fiancé does check trip advisor before we ever travel this was the one impulsive time that he didn't and we have regretted it ever since. we paid for 2 nights and we left as soon as was physically possible the next day. after using money we had saved up for this trip its safe to say we will never ever travel without checking here first. when we sent a pic to friends and family this is where the penny dropped that these two had appeared on hotel inspector in 2006 safe to say the time and effort the hotel inspector had spent with them did no good and if there is any justice in the world they should give up this line of work in the hospitality industry.
