Stayed one night at this average hotel. Bed was very soft, bathroom was very clean but there wasn't really enough room for the type of toilet and sink, very crampt. Disabled travellers or families with very young children may have an issue with the stairs and narrow corridors.
Food was very nice but after we had ordered were told that there was no rice so we were not able to have the meal we had settled on, a little short sighted of the management on a Friday night when the trade usually starts to pick up!

My friend and I decided to visit Weston for the first time for the May bank holiday weekend.
We found Smiths on the internet and were very happy there.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean (also have a 5* food hygiene rating), the food was very nice, and the location excellent.
Would definitely stay here again if we come back to Weston super-mare.

Weekend visit for Weston Brass Band Contest in Winter Gardens, three minute walk.
Good, comfy, clean and well appointed single en-suite with sea-view. Breakfast and dinner of good quality and all reasonably priced, as was the well stocked bar. Beautiful weather so nice to be able to sit outside. All staff polite and helpful. Only minus is lack of car-parking with the alternative being expensive.
Overall a very good Hotel, thank you.

Stopped to eat at Smith's on the 17th May with family great day so we sat outside to eat and have a drink. We all had food BUT unfortunately one of the group had a wood lice in the salad. when we spoke to the head waitress the comment from her was oh yes you get that when you eat outside !!! she said the salad comes to them prepacked but they always wash it before serving. I dont think this is the case and blaming the customer for sitting outside is not the best way to solve the problem. Please be advised if you sit outside to eat its your fault if you get bugs in your food !!!!

We have just spent the week at the hotel. We had room 27 with a balcolny. The room was very nice with great views of the pier. The food was excellent and the staff were always polite. We enjoyed the hotels position so we booked another week at the Victoia Mansion apartments next door which are owned by the same people. You can upgrade here from the hotel for not much more money. The apartments are first class and have private parking. Would recommend checking availability with hotel. Must be the best location in Weston super mare.

Hotel looks good impressive and inviting frontage and location to sea front could not be better,on arrival met with a warm greeting and shown to our room .The room was well decorated and possibly a tad over furnished which would have made more room ,bathroom must have been on the limit of being too small for usage you could sit on toilet clean teeth in sink and wash feet in shower .We had dinner in the smiths restaurant and breakfast in residents dinning room and the food was excellent very tasty and well presented. The one real downside was the walls seem very thin in the bedrooms and at 12.30 am a rather worse for drink lad returned to the next door room and knocked furniture over with a load bang then just after his partner returned and a very loud row ensued so keeping me awake for most of the night and to cap it all they started again at 6.30 am over him snoring this event tends to take the edge off would have bed a great and enjoyable stay

Room Tip: Get a sea view

I stayed at Smiths Hotel from 7th April - 11th April, went with Nova tours. I went with my mum, we stayed in room 33. Newly refurbished, spotlessly clean, hot water any time of day, and a sea view which was a pleasant surprise, room very quiet. Minus point no grab rail in shower.

On arrival seated in lounge with a cuppa and the team organised rooms and dining room table, very civilised. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, very accommodating. The evening meal however was rather limited, only 2 choices plus salad, was well cooked but this was the only minus point. But to be fair to the hotel they do cater for different special requests. The breakfast was a corker, no worries there.

Bar prices not bad. £3.85 for a glass of wine, £1.75 for half a local cider, and £1.85 for half of premium spanish lager. About the same as a pub, and usually hotel prices are a bit higher.

There is an old fashioned cage lift which is fine, there are only 2 floors.

I would go back to Smiths again, and Weston is a lovely town if you want to chill!

Thank you very much!
