hotel was a bargain break of one night for £59.00. ( usual price £89) the hotel was pretty run down, but he staff made up for this by being so helpful and friendly and showing us a choice of rooms. we picked one with a sea view. It was clean but all needed a makeover. shower room old and flooring in the shower room bit iffy. the drinks at the bar were extoritionate and the breakfast was expensive and pooor. No lack of breakfast places in weston doing the full english for £5.80, hotels was £7.40 and not very good quality ingredients were used.

Thankyou to John the owner and staff for such wonderful stay. This is the only hotel we have stayed at where we missed breakfast, and as we were walking though reception, spoke to one of the staff, and said to her "we didnt make breakfast, we had a lie in" . We were just making conversation, and about to go out for the day. She said if we would still like breakfast, would be no problem. So we did, it was huge and delicious.
The following morning i had smoked haddock and a poached egg that was also delicious.
Our room was pleasant, on the ground floor with a seaview.
A lot of money has been spent on this hotel, and is very clean and modern, not like a lot of dives in Weston, who are charging similar prices, but are rundown, old fashioned and dirty !!!!!!!!
Well worth a visit, the owner oversees everything and is very professional, friendly and a trendy cool dude !!!

Room Tip: All rooms will be of same standard i guess, but if you would like a seaview, a surcharge applies i b...

Stayed here for an overnight treat for my birthday. Great location right opposite Grand pier. Rooms were of a good size. We had a sea view which was lovely. Room looked recently refurbished with a nice contemporary feel to it. En suite again was refurbished and although very small adequate. It appeared they had tried to install as much good quality style as they could into a very small space. We didn't eat our evening meal at the hotel but the menu looked extensive and unusually for a small hotel a smaller room service menu was available until 8pm. We ate st the Old Thatched cottage a brief stroll down the road and I definitely recommend this for a special occasion.
Breakfast in the morning was excellent. Good choice including the usual full English but also smoked haddock and kippers. As much cereal, fresh fruit tea coffee and toast as you wanted. All in all a very pleasant stay . Will definitely come again and pay that little bit extra for a sea view. It's definitely worth it.

I booked a premier room ... Was given room 9 right next to a noisy lift and so tiny there was no space to put my suitcase on the floor !
Asked to be moved , the lovely manager offered me a different room , room 30 was a lot nicer .
The balcony was old and tired , concrete on the tables and cracked tiles on the floor !
Took a while to get hot water in the shower , be patient !
Food typical pub grub ... Nothing healthy on the menu !
Very limited car parking and if everyone's parked properly only for 6 cars !
Would I stay again .....not sure

We visited Smith for lunch whilst on an adhoc day trip to Weston.

First impressions were great and we had a lovely warm welcome from the staff.

The hotel itself appears to be in a transitional period as the majority of the place appeared to have been refitted but there were a couple of bits yet to be updated (the 'lovely' carpet for instance!)

The other clue was that I selected 4 (maybe 5) things off the menu and they'd either ran out or weren't doing it anymore.

A bit disappointing but nevertheless, once i'd got my steak and ale pie I was not disappointed.

It cost us £30 for 2 main meals, a sandwich, 4 soft drinks and a tip - so all in all I would say that this was reasonably good value for money.

Would certainly consider going again and the staff were really nice too

Visited this hotel again after a 2 year break.refurbishment is underway but caused no problem to visitors Stayed for 5 days as part of a Nova Tours coach holiday.Welcomed with a cup of tea whilst cases unloaded and meal table and rooms allocated. Our room was on the first floor (10) The bathroom has been refurbished to a high standard soap. shower gel and shampoo provided and towels changed every day Our room had a balcony and sea view.
Food very good with plenty of choice both at breakfast and evening .Entertainment good and thankfully no bingo! All the staff were pleasant and nothing was too much trouble. Best hotel we have stayed in with Nova Tours and will certainly visit again next year

Room Tip: ask for a sea view room with balcony

stayed at this hotel in november last year (2012) with my sister and two friends. there were a lot of parties already booked in so we were a bit dubious about what to expect. there was no need to have worried as we were included in all the festivities that went on there. all staff ( except one bar man ) were friendly and helpfull. rooms were clean and comfortable with plenty of fresh towels. enjoyed it so much that we are booking again this year.

Room Tip: all rooms seemed well located
