I love Woodend Barn, not only available for private hire, it has art exhibitions, crafts and all sorts of weekend events. The cinema evenings are great too.
Buchanans which is attached is a great place to meet up for a coffee and homemade cakes and also for an evening meal.

While visiting the Banchory area check what's on at the barn have some great events and don't always have to book in advance not over the top price wise either for a concert or theatrical evening. Local shops usually have a program of events

Had to write this immediately. Just back from a performance of Madame Butterfly at Woodend Barn, Banchory, by Opera Bohemia and it was FANTASTIC, FABULOUS, OMG! I had seriously forgotten the story to be told and was just reminded with passion and gusto. The lead, Catriona Clark, had a chest infection so whilst she performed, she could not sign and was supported by a brilliant and robust singer and I must send an email to the Barn to confirm who that fantastic singer was! Sorry for my gushing, but praise where praise is due - that was excellent!

Just really discovered this lovely arts venue and bistro. A great variety of events with a difference, first saw Ally Bain with two excellent musicians perform a superb concert in the lovely cosy Barn, great accoustics and fab atmosphere! Saw a screening of the 1926 Nosferatu with a new score played live by the composer, wonderful for halloween! Also tried the bistro on three occasions and the food is delicious, a wonderful range of tastes and always the fabulous bread! A relaxed atmosphere with local crafts, books and newspapers to browse. Love it all!
