Staff very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Beautiful rooms although I believe some renovation is going on at the moment and there will be a change. Fair rates on rooms. Chef really excellent. Plenty to see and do in the vicinity.

Very warm welcome on arrival and friendly reception. Room given was perfectly acceptable however receptionist offerered an upgrade as hotel was quiet. Upgrade room was outstanding with fantastic facilities. Shown to room and assistance offered to move belongings. Also requested a glass of wine and this was delivered to room for us

Due to low residancy (seasonal) restaurant was not open, however extensive bar supper menu was available. Food quality and service were exceptional, staff very attentive but not intrusive but willing to engage in conversation,. Open coal fires in bar and lounge areas. Breakfast selection and service excellent.

Recently refurbished to high standard and a pleasure to stay there.

Highly recommended as a very relaxing, pleasant, very comfortable hotel, well staffed and managed, and we WILL be back.

Stayed one night with husband on their dinner, bed and breakfast rate. Was automatically upgraded to a suite which was fabulous and extremely spacious. Have never seen such a big bed! Check in was very smooth and we were shown to our room by a young lady who showed us where to find the bar, lounge etc. Spent the day sitting relaxing by the open fire in the lounge, had a few drinks which were very reasonably priced. Dinner was absolutely first class and, although the hotel was busy with another function, we didn't feel we waited too long for any course. The waiting staff apologised for the delay but we didn't feel this was necessary. Lovely breakfast next morning. We were sad to leave, we could have spent longer there. Would certainly recommed the hotel to anyone wishing to relax and spoil themselves. Special mention to Philip for his warm welcome on arrival. An absolute gem of a hotel, close enough to Banchory if you want to walk in and try the pubs, restaurants etc, but we chose to stay at the hotel.

Stayed here for 2 nights = booked as a last minute booking. Room clean - bed spacious & comfortable. Breakfast very enjoyable. Staff very friendly. Felt very relaxed here = lovely welcoming lounge with open fire. I spoke to other guests who had stayed previously and said it had been recently refurbished and it is a very pleasant hotel.

We were attracted by the 'Fine Dining Menu' only to be told when we arrived that there was 'insufficient interest' so it wasn't on the cards anymore - but, the chef would produce one if we requested it! As this would have meant sitting in a large dining room by ourselves we didn't bother. However the bar meals were excellent, but it would have been a help to be told of the new arrangements before we arrived. Other points, good large rooms (cold in winter?) friendly helpful staff, good breakfasts. A pleasant stay overall
