I booked The Kingfisher Cabin on the Butterwell estate for my Birthday on the Bank Holiday weekend and spent 4 glorious nights and days in the middle of a perfect piece of Cornwall.
We were welcomed by Sam on arrival and were overwhelmed by the first impressions of the cabin. The welcome of fresh eggs and milk are a lovely bonus, there really is everything you need inside and out. The Cabin really is more than a home from home and catered for all of our needs. The massive comfy bed, lovely bathroom (underfloor heating for winter), fully equipped kitchen, WIFI and the balcony with a BBQ & an amazing view you could never get bored of. It really is a little taste of luxury.
The location is amazing, easy to find in the middle of nowhere but not too far to everywhere you need to get to. The Butterwell Estate is vast and so picturesque. We spotted so much wildlife from deer, heron, numerous birds, a fox and of course the Jacob sheep! We spent more than a few hours exploring the area and wish we had more time to explore some more!
The direct and easy access to the Camel Trail is fantastic and brings you so close to the Camel Valley vineyard across the valley, short cycle rides to tea rooms, pubs, Bodmin and Wadebridge and beyond all of which we visited.
Both my husband and I felt so sad when our weekend was over and want to return later in the year to see the changes of the seasons on the estate.
Butterwell Farm is amazing and we had the best weekend in years and recommend the whole place 100%. Rachael & Sam are the most amazing hosts and you couldn't ask for more!

Room Tip: Kingfisher Cabin, peace and tranquility

This was our second stay at Butterwell Farm and we look forward to the next visit. The hosts Sam and Rachel treated us like VIP's. The rooms and shared guest spaces are generous and cosy. The private location on the bank of the River Camel surrounded by farmland, woods and vineyards made our stay very enjoyable. Waking up to the dawn chorus and looking along the misty Camel valley is a real tonic.

Room Tip: Rooms in the cottage, annex and cabin give more room and relaxing areas.

We stayed in a very comfortable new cabin in the garden. It had everything we needed including a wonderful view of the river and fields. It was dog friendly and is situated within 10 minutes walk of The Camel Trail. The hosts were very welcoming and really helped with the fishing. There was riding on Bodmin Moor which was very enjoyable and close by. We would definitely go again.

Highly recommended from our short stay here, most welcoming, we stayed as B+B, very comfortable room, cannot fault our short stay, great cooked breakfast in the morning, stunning location, even during some rain the view cannot be beaten.

We spent 4 days in this lovely farm . My husband fished for 2 nights guide by Rick Garrard
Although he never caught a fish they're were fish in the river I think Rick caught about 7 nice sea trout .
The farm is in a lovely setting overlooking the river Camel , with lots of wild life around , kingfishers , otters and deer . There is also a lovely woodland walk that connects to the Camel trail suitable for walking and bikes .
Our accommodation was excellent, we a sitting room with wood burning stove and a fully equipped kitchen . Our bedroom was light and spacious with an ensuite bathroom and a nice view of the river .
Rachel and Sam were delightful hosts and provided us with an excellent breakfast , fresh fruit and a full English with there own fresh eggs . They and Rick had lots of helpful advice on attractions and restaurants.
All in all a restful special place , where we one is thoroughly spoiled
