We visited with children 6 and 9. They loved the challenges of the short exciting trails ( I screamed most of the way). Looking forward to going back and seeing the play area finished hopefully they'll be a picnic area added too. Great job national trust!
The National Trust have worked hard to create a number of different mountain bike trails for the Lanhydrock cycle hub. All the runs are colour coded for the level of difficulty from Green (easy and suitable for most) through to Red (short but tricky). I believe they may be planning a black run as well.
All the trails are well marked and on specially made paths through the woods. Humps, jumps and banked bends have been built in to add to the fun (and skill needed). At the top of each trail there are posts giving the trail name, run rating and an estimate of how long it takes. All the trails are also one way, so hopefully you won't meet someone rocketing along coming the other way.
Great for solo riding or with mates
They have their own facebook page for it:
