Landlord Paul and Head Chef Wife Jo do not rest on their laurels but are constantly seeking ways to improve their already excellent offering. Since my last visit early this summer they have added a neat little snug to the dining area by converting the old wood store/beer cellar into a cosy but bright and airy room which is ideal for parties as well as those seeking a bit of privacy. The prices here are extremely reasonable considering the high standard of cooking and service which is why the place is always busy and why it is wise to book if you want to be sure of a table. The wine list now boasts the excellent Good Ordinary Claret from Berry Brothers, as well as an excellent Gascoigne from Pellhaut. This place simply goes from strength to strength.
