Owner description: Jodrell Bank Discovery Centre is best-known as the home of the world-famous Lovell Telescope -A near 90m high radio telescope that has become an iconic landmark on the Cheshire landscape. Seeing the telescope up close and in action is an exhilarating sight and the Centre's interactive displays and exhibits help explain what the telescope does and how it works. The Discovery Centre also includes a cafe and gift shop, along with 35 acres of gardens and arboretum, complete with picnic areas and playground, perfect for a family day out. You'll also find a year-round events programme including live science shows taking place during school holidays, a popular evening lecture series, and the award-winning annual festival of discovery, Bluedot.

Disappointing day, the lack of interactive displays was a huge disappointment particularly as we took kids, the visitor centre could be geared a lot better towards different ages and needs bringing up to date

The exhibition and grounds are ok to keep kids occupied for a few hours but nothing special and as stated in other reviews things could be made a bit more interesting with some thought and more interactive exhibits.
OK all the same.

Stopped here as a short experience before we headed back down south. A couple of hours was about enough - including the 'science show'. Too much information for most smaller people to read and absorb, and too much to read out load for them for the rest of us. Interactive things were OK, but as usual in these places some of them were broken or not working properly.

Cafe was nice but packed on a cold day. On a warmer day more could be made of the outside things, the whispering dishes were particularly good and several sets of them would be lots of fun for more children.

Nearest I'll get to space travel. Planetarium gives a chance to pretend and knowledge and commentary increases enjoyment. Seeing the radio receivers scanning the skies and marvelling at their size makes us feel how small we really are.

The size of the satellite dish is quite amazing but the rest of the exhibitions are a bit poor. They kept the kids entertained for minimal time. The playground is also very poor. Admission price is cheap but you would only spend an hour there.
