I would have rated this restaurant as very good, because the food was good and well presented. However, we were given a small table as it was just for two and the plates that the food comes on are enormous! The meal, particularly the desserts are all plate and less food. It advertised a 3 course meal at a reasonable rate but by the time we had added little extras and drinks it became very expensive. This restaurant is a strange shape and we tried to decided what it had been in a previous life time - maybe a drapers, tailors? It did not feel relaxed and I felt the environment would be more fitting for a lunch time snack than an evening meal. A party of 14 were sat at the top and they took priority so we had long waits between courses and drinks being served. I had to ask for the desserts 3 times and had such a long wait, that we were the last in the restaurant and was given our coffee and a beer free. Whilst we were in the restaurant a fight broke out outside and two men fought against the restaurant/shop window which moved and rippled worringly. The ladies in the party of 14 took it in turns to go out and shout at the brawlers, leaving the door open and leaving us sitting in a draught. The staff were not overly friendly but efficient. The wait was obvioulsy due to the other party. I think that there are probably nicer places to eat in the area.
