“Really interesting place”

We came across this museum by accident and decided to go in. We also took the optional tour which was a good decision. The lady tour guide really knew her stuff and was able to demonstrate how the machinery worked. Highly recommended!

“Very interesting”
Reviewed July 30, 2012

£3 each and we were strolling around for over an hour. We didn't do the tour but really enjoyed what was on offer. Fascinating facts about silk making and how hard life used to be for the weavers etc. Hands on items for children to explore, and adults if your like me. Cafe was basic but welcoming and the hot chocolate was the best I have tasted. Wasn't asked to gift aid, spotted a poster and had to requat this-might be useful economically if we had been asked as we could have missed the poster. Staff friendly and helpful though. The pen and ink artwork on the stairs really took my eye, the hands holding the houses were really good but out of my price league-sadly
