“reasonable food”
Reviewed January 4, 2013

We ordered our food at the bar and two out three meals arrived but the third was completely different to what we had ordered and had to wait for the correct one. I would say the food was fine.

“Ok beer but food is....”
Reviewed December 30, 2012

The beer is standard and the food is shocking. Wouldn't eat here if I was starving. I went with three friend we all got our meals at different times except me, I had to go to the bar to ask where my foo was, which the answer was they had ran out and they had forgot to come and tell me then my second order turned up eventually which was a steak baguette and it was micro waved bread and what I can only describe as the trimmings.
Stay well clear

“Good food poor customer care”
Reviewed December 26, 2012 via mobile

We ordered our meals at the bar and paid. Once back to the table and realised we could have had the same meals plus a dessert for a meal deal and went back to amend payment ( needing to pay £1 MORE) we were refused by the bar man and even though the 2 main meals were the same (not disrupting the chefs) we were simply told as we had paid on card not cash that this change was impossible! Such a shame as its a really nice pub and the food was good. The bar staff should be aware of the meal deals and advise customers accordingly and not simply deny any amendments

“A nice pub with quite nice food”
Reviewed November 30, 2012

We go here quite often and it is usually very good... It does have its moments though when it's a bit slow and the staff are a bit forgetful... All in all, recommended. We have thought about a "BRING BACK THE RASPBERRY TRIFLES IN THE LITTLE KILNER JARS" campaign as they were excellent excellent puddings but have failed to make a menu appearence for ages and ages.

“Home From Home - comfortable and impressive”
Reviewed November 28, 2012

whilst looking for a place to eat with my wife and family, eight of us in tow, decided to try the Cock and Pheasant in bollington.
Happy - isnt the word! Ecstatic probably is! a great traditional public house, with a modern yet homely feel, coupled with a range of traditional cask ales, which suited the dads in the party!
food was fresh and delivered in double quick time, even though the place was quite full. our waitress was all smiles and i even got chatting to the landlord (i think he was anyway) who was quite happy to entertain our love of cask - telling us the whats and whereabouts about the range he had on. very charming and entertaining.
personally off the menu, i cant recommend the pie trio enough, really well presented and piping hot!
its good to know that some landlords care about customers, the whole experience was really very good and i think as a family we have found our new 'meeting place' when visiting my wifes parents. we have tried a lot of other pubs and bars in the area, but i think this is the best place locally and we have found our home from home!
