Rooms are in a separate building from the bar, which meant peace and quiet. Rooms were typically small but comfortable, and the mattress was the standard lumpy English one, but still slept well. Very friendly and helpful staff all three days of our stay, and management interested in our opinions on anything needing improvement (which I was happy to say, not much). Sunday night was the traditional pub 'quiz night' with a dozen locals showing up in teams with lots of friendly competition and fun. The only pub in the small village but not resting on that, the food was excellent, local ales very good and staff hustling to serve. Plenty to do -- or not -- in the area including dozens of miles of walks in the fields. Staff knowledgeable and helpful about how to find attractions. We hope to return. I miss the place!

Room Tip: Two rooms up a narrow stair, two rooms down you hear a bit of creaking from those above. Take your p...

A one off stop on the way home, nice welcome from the landlord and tho it was Curry night he recommended the pies they were famous for. Not disappointed, steak and ale was tasty, lean and tender, lots of gravy and plenty of it. The chips too worth a mention, crisp, fluffy and tasty. Wish it was our local!

Lovley old inn. We were bit dissapointed that the kitchen wasn't fully opperational when we stayed. However we had a really nice lunch pleanty on your plate a challenge to eat it all. We stayed in the accomodation attached to the inn. Very good size with tea and coffee facilities the rooms were serviced and spotless. Nice warm welcome from all concerned would love to go back and perhaps sample the evening meals. Thank you for a lovley stay.

We arrived at 10 pm but I had called ahead to check that the rooms would not be re-sold. All was fine and we were asked to go to the bar to collect the keys. The barmaid was very friendly. The rooms are in a separate building, which means it was peaceful, with lovely views. The village of Rainow is very picturesque.

Breakfast was served by the chef - service was a little slow, but nothing was too much trouble and all done with a smile.

For the price charged, it was good value for money. Rooms were clean and serviceable.

Me and my partner stayed here on the 1st of June 2013 as a treat for my birthday. For one the postcode on the website is not correct it's sk10 not sk11. We arrived and saw that the barmaid was running the whole place so she had 2 stop serving ppl in the pub to get our room key. Our room was small but cosy the bbc channels wouldn't work. We booked our table 4 6 that night and had 2 take care if ourselves 2 be seated and again had 2 wait 4 service. The staff were friendly tho. I ordered the steak medium to well and I got a steak that was over done and dry when I said to the waitress I wanted it slightly pink. Also our bed was very very soft and of poor quality. The icing on the cake was breakfast which we arrived at 10 which again the girl asked us wat time we wanted we told her ten. We arrived 2 a empty pud apart from the cleaner he was shouting 4 someone to come down which I found bad considering it was dwn in the book wat time we were coming. The owner asked us if we wanted tea/coffee and again as the only server was left waiting and received cold coffee. Then asked if we wanted a cooked breakfast not asking if we want anything adding or taken away. I had 2 stop him and tell him how I liked my egg. Wat we got was pretty-made food which that the texture had been made in the morning and left under a heat. The sausages were tough as boots the bacon like leather it was the worst breakfast I've ever had and considering that there are only four rooms the tables were not cleared away. We also had 2 stop eating to pay as the owner needed to go to the shops bad told us just to leave the key. We were just left alone nobody asked how it was. The service was awful would not recommend.

Stayed one night at the Robin Hood. Room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Breakfast was good though unfortunately they had run out of sausages. Ate our evening meal in the pub and whilst not 5-star, nor were the prices and it was good quality 'pub grub'. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Shame the free wifi from the pub didn't extend to the B&B rooms though.

Good quiet location on the edge of the Peak District and good value for 2 for B&B.
