New restaurant to Bangor and what a great joy it is to find one that places quality over quantity. You have the choice of two course or three coures at a set price which is great with a good selection to suit everyone. The quality of food and service was excellent for a restaurant that has just opened. Good menu presentation with very good wine selections. A very relaxed atmosphere and good decor. Will be back, it is not very often one can not find fault, great Chef and staff. Book well in advance.

Yes a delightful experience. This restaurant had only been open a week but on a wednesday night it was humming. The decor is simple and really effective; the seating comfortable and the service excellent.
First impression was that the wine was very reasonably priced and the selection super.
The menu was extensive and the price was fine. the confit of duck starter was excellent. the crispy artichoke was interesting if a bit bland - needed aioli with a kick.Mushroom starter was pronounced fine. The lamb and the hake were given 10 out of ten.
The deserts were also much appreciated but the selection of cheese with a £5.50 supplement was dreadful. Miserable portion and one was dried up and inedible. Best to stick to french.
All in all a very pleasant experience. Not cheap at £90 a couple with 5 bottles of wine among 6 but we will certainly be back. Only criticism is that it was a wee bit noisy.

We excitedly ventured in to the newly opened Corin restaurant at the top of High Street in Bangor tonight. We were enticed by the menu, but this delightful restaurant exceeded our expectations.
First, we were given complimentary home made breads. The wine list was very accessible, with a Saint Helena red and white at only £10 a bottle. Two courses cost £22, 3 courses £27.50. Believe me, you will have 3!!! Included in the price are an amuse bouche - tonight, mushroom in polenta with sweet corn purée- coffee ( freshly brewed Americano) and homemade petit fours ( drool!!! Whiskey fudge and mint choc truffles). Starters include seared scallops with cumin velouté, grilled mackerel with fennel and apple, confit duck etc and mains include slow braised lamb with rosemary potato cakes and hake with crab crushed potato and brown shrimp. Delicious. Beautifully presented. Fresh vegetables as a side dish. Quantities are perfect- not huge portions, but plenty, and each mouthful a delight. Desserts...oh yes!!! Tarte tartin with cinnamon ice cream, caramelised oat, whiskey and honey parfait with raspberry coulis...even chocolate fondant and vodka pannacotta. Really stunning.
We chatted to the chef afterwards and he is a darling!! And a GP by day! Front of house staff were welcoming, pleasant and efficient.
This is the restaurant Bangor has been waiting for.
I would rather save up all month and go here than have a cheap carry out meal once a week.
We will be back as soon as we can.
But be warned, this was a Wednesday night and the restaurant was full, so book in plenty of time.
