We went to Garfunkel's on Saturday 8th June to celebrate a friend's 70th birthday and I can honestly say that it is one of the best nights out we have had for a long time.

The staff could not have been more helpful from the waiting staff who were polite, friendly and professional to the management who helped me to organise the party by putting together a special menu for us.

The food was excellent and was enjoyed by everyone there. There were 24 of us and usually there is someone who doesn't like something but on this occasion all 24 said the food was great.

The whole restaurant has a nice friendly and welcoming atmosphere and with it being a lovely sunny evening there was also the advantage of being able to sit outside for a while too.

Overall it was excellent food and first rate service. As Arnie would say - I'll be back :-)

We visited Garfunkels when we were in Bangor for the day, having read some good reviews of it. We had the early bird menu which was very good value at Stg10 per head for 2 courses. The choice was a little limited but the food and service was good and the place was pretty full on a Thursday night. Lovely decor and good atmosphere. Would recommend for a cheap and cheerful night out. You can byob also which is a good idea.

Visited here last Friday evening. We didn't book and they were very busy but got seated quickly by a friendly young waitress. The scampi was the best I've ever had and we were persuaded to try the desert and had delicious cheesecake. Food was amazing and served quick and the atmosphere was relaxed and welcoming. Will definitely be back soon.

Eventually found it!! Nice enough decor wise, only 1 person to start with at lunch time, this amazes me as you are given menus, no drink order taken, eventually food and drink order got but another wait to be served the drinks as the poor lady is serving, clearing, taking money!! Starter bit bland but lucky for seasoning on the table! Pitta pocket over a tenner when you add the extra chips on as I'm not one for salad! Fish pie tasted ok but more like soup, small dollop of creamed potato, thought this would have been more substantial. All in all just ok not one to rave about!

I have been to this place many times and have dined morning lunch and evening. This is a bistro style restaurant that does really good quality food in a modern style setting and underpinned by service that is very friendly, sincere, unintrusive and welcoming.

The place does not set itself out or pretend to be a fine dining restaurant, it serves very high quality bistro syle food with a creative flair and at very reasonable prices. It has a friendly casual vibe to it that makes for a very relaxed chilled dining experience.

Having read some of the previous reviews, I feel that some of them are probably a little unfair and down to poorly managed expectations. The place is really very good and well worth a visit any day of the week for breakfast lunch or dinner.
