The Clandeboye hotel is one of those hotels you would like to keep to yourself because if it becomes to popular you may not get a room next time you want to visit Bangor.
All joking aside you could not wish to stay at a more visitor friendly hotel, nothing is to much trouble and the restaurant is well worth a visit. I have stayed here quite a number of times over the past four years while visiting Northern Ireland on business and would never dream of staying anywhere else.

I was married in the Clandeboye Lodge a few years ago and haven't been back since our 1st Anniversary. Decided to go back as it is now 4 Star. It was lovely and quiet considering it was the middle of December, I'm assuming all the Christmas parties where in the other building which houses the function rooms.

ALL Staff were polite and courteous and very helpful.

Room was lovely, although a few more biccys( yummy homemade shortbread) and sachets of normal everyday Tea ( plenty of earl grey and herbal) would have been appreciated, however if you love coffee you are in for a treat as there was plenty to choose from and an expresso maker in the room with 4 flavours.

The food was every bit as good as I'd remembered and the brisket was melt in the mouth and the mash was so perfect. I felt the ETON MESS, could have done with a bit more meringue but was still lovely. MY O/H loved the posset but would have liked a few more berries on top,

The only slight flaw was that the reception and dining/waiting was a little on the cool side and we heard a few others say this too, but the fire adds a nice cosy homely feel. Also bit of limited choice on papers, 2 or 3 on sunday and 1 weekdays but not a big problem as they can order any of your choice for you.

Hopefully it wont be as long til i go back next time.

Our son and his now wife had their wedding service and reception here on Sunday 4th December, We have never been so impressed with a venue, from the reception we received on checking in, the head waiter who handled the wedding guests and bride and groom at the reception (nothing was too much trouble for that young man, AND he was really pleasant) The waiting staff friendly and professional, the food was fabulous, the atmosphere was lovely and the rooms were really clean and luxurious.
It was a truly magical experience, we even had snow on Sunday night. On leaving the next morning the receptionist took the time for a wee chat and to make sure everything was ok for us.A young chap was outside and brought us warm water to help thaw out our cars! We didnt have to ask, he just offered, Owners you should be proud of your staff who make your hotel the best I have been to for a wedding reception and also stayed in in a very long time. We will b recommending you as will all of the wedding guests. Well done!

Room Tip: We stayed in an executive room, it was more like a suite! Beautiful

Very disappointed on one of the most stressful and distressing days of life. Feel very let down by lack of empathy in staging of gatherng (Lunch diners beside mourners), the formal layout and lack of attention or direction paid to mourners who were as confused as the family in where to go, why there was no tea or coffee on arrival etc etc.

Should have known better when booking as receptionist was non plused and unsympathetic but funny enough just didnt have my full wits about me the day after my dad passed away.

Get your act together and be more upfront and clear on what you are actually providing

I stayed in this hotel at the end of September while visiting on business.
Everything about the hotel was easy going and relaxed and the staff were (as usual for Bangor) extremely friendly.
My room was spacious and comfortable, with a big bed.
I didnt have dinner at the hotel, but if the breakfast was anything to go by, dinner will be delicious!
For the price I payed which was round about chain hotel prices, I would much prefer to stay here.

had a truly wonderful stay under difficult family circumstances. The staff were friendly and very helpful. Restaurant and bar were great and the room was lovely, clean and big. Inroom facilities included a nespresso machine and kettle etc. which was a tremendous plus. Plenty of parking and a really beautiful countryside setting with being in easy reach of Bangor & Belfast.

We have just returned back from an overnight stay. On entering the hotel we received a very warm and welcoming reception, by the very nice lady at the front desk whom we had spoken to earlier to reserve the room. On entering the Room, the lights had been turned on in advance along with the room being a perfect temperature. As we were both tired after a long journey, we decided to have a room service dinner. The room service was efficent and piping hot. Our breakfast was also served to the room and a perfectly cooked and fresh Irish breakfast which we both enjoyed. Beds are seriously comfortable and a very generous size which made for a great nights sleep.! We would have no hesitation in recommending this very well run hotel, situated on lovely grounds. We will be back.!!
