Checked in Mid Afternoon, two people on reception male / female. The f/m checked us in, and after the preliminaries, asked if I would guarantee my stay with a card. Decided to use my Debit Card, which was accepted. I then asked about charging extras to my room - i.e. drinks....to be told well as you did not use a Credit Card, sorry you cannot. Cash Machines are available in the bar. Well now, had this been mentioned when I offered the Debit Card I certainly would have offered my Credit Card. Customer Care - Marine Court style - Definitely could do better - 5/10. The was my 3rd hotel in 6 days, sadly the worst reception encountered, the welcome in the Irish Republic was certainly much warmer and more professional.
Anyway instantly decided I do not need to either eat or drink in this place as there is plenty of choice around....and that I did. So overall a reduction in spend at the Marine Court of around £60.00.
The room was pretty good - paid for a larger room - £115.00.
Breakfast was adequate.
Car Parking is DIY, and I used a Pay and Display across the road £4.00 for 24 Hours. There is very limited free parking directly outside.
Would I stay again probably not, there is a lot of choice in the area.
