My son and his finance got married in the hotel on Friday 9th August, from the moment we stepped into the hotel we were looked after. The room where the ceremoney was held was decorated to perfecton. We left the hotel to have photos taken in Mountstewart Gardens, and on our return booked into the hotel for the evening. Quick, efficient and bags taken to our room. The reception itself was outstanding, the food was fantastic, great waiter/waitress service. The evening disco was great and waiter service throughout the evening. We weer all well looked after. I have to mention Graham, who took charge of the entire day, couldn't ask for a better person, so understanding and more than willing to help out. Thank you Graham. I would have no hesitation in recommending any couple thinking of getting married to book the Marine Court. Thanks to everyone involved.

We spent 3 nights at Marine Court prior to the WPFG in Belfast. When we arrived we were early and just wanted to park and walk around Bangor. When we asked at reception a tall blonde lady advised us that we were too early and to just find parking around the building. She was not friendly nor helpful. The hotel is dated and dark and is in desperate need of a facelift. The room we had was over the alley way that housed a very loud nightclub and bookie establishment. The noise through the night and I mean all night was unbearable. When we spoke to the manager the next day he indicated when booking you are warned of the noise, unfortunately our original booking way made as a group and that piece of information was not passed on. We were advised that since it was now Sunday the noise would be minimal for the remainder of our stay. That did not happen Sunday and Monday were still extremely noisy. The only positive thing we can say about our stay at Marine Court was the staff in the restaurant each morning.

We stayed in the abbey suite which had plenty of room for us and our 3 small children. Good tea and coffee facilities, hot chocolate for the kids etc. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection to choose from and attentive, lovely staff. This hotel is good value for money and has a nice swimming pool. The only downside is the noise from a nearby disco. We were on the top floor and the kids couldn't get off to sleep because of the noise.

We have just returned for a 2 night stay at Marine Court. The positives. This hotel is very clean and obviously the cleaning staff work hard. The decor is somewhat dark, I dont think it is old or dirty, just very dark colours which can be a bit unwelcoming. However, I bathroom though small was very clean and our bedroom which was quite large was also very clean with good tea/coffee making facilities. A modern flat screen TV and an excellent large comfortable bed. Our breakfasts were very good and we enjoyed a really 1st class meal in Nelsons Restaurant for only £30 per couple, which included two large courses and a bottle of house wine. We could not fault that. Our only problem was that we spend so long out on the Causeway Coastal Route, we did not make it back for our evening meal on Sunday. Disappointed. All staff at this hotel are 5 Star, very friendly, helpful and professional. Nice walks, northward from the Marina.

Our only compliant is that the area around the Marine Court is very run down, particularly all the cheap Pizza and Fish and Chip places. Pubs in the area not very pleasant at all. The room on the 3rd floor was very warm and when we opened the window, unfortunately the noise from late night revellers was a bit much.

Room Tip: We had a marina view room. Very nice.

The faded grandeur of the reception area needs a fresh approach, but in an area of that size this would not be cheap. Walking in from the sunny harbour it just seemed very... well... dull.

Our room looked out onto a flat roof covered with a large, scruffy collection of extractor fans/ducts/aircon gizmos with distant views of nothing much beyond. Now this could be fixed very simply by screening with something acceptable like wood or metal panel fencing; if this was properly specified to reduce the noise during the night it would be even better. The foreground to this 'view' resulted from previous room guests having spent a lot of time smoking out of the window, to judge by the hundreds of fag-ends lying on the flat roof just outside the window (along with some other suspicious looking detritus).

The other slightly uncomfortable thing about the flat roof was that one could step out of the window onto it, which means that, firstly, there would be a danger for children staying three floors up and secondly, it would have been possible for someone to gain access to the roof from a different window and then get into our room through the window that the room staff left wide open during the day and which we had to leave open for ventilation at night.

Breakfast: there's never a good reason to bring the toast before anything else!

Staff: all professional, helpful and friendly.

Ambience: the late-night disco has been mentioned by others.

Room Tip: Harbour view

Just back from another lovely experience at the Marine court. Our welcome on arrival was friendly, our room was comfortable and clean, the bed was very comfortable. We had dinner in Nelson's Restaurant we recommend a table by the window, when the sun goes down the view over the marina is very relaxing. We had the filet steak - it was to die for the best we have had in along time and the service was amazing. Our waiter Billy kept us entertained all evening. and the singer just made the evening perfect. The next day at breakfast again the service was excellent and the food in general is of a very high standard. We are really looking forward to our next visit.

Room Tip: Ask for a corner room on the 3rd floor they are lovely and spacious
