Description: The Ava Winebar has undergone a complete refurbishment and has been transformed into a classy, elegant and on trend wine bar. We are ideally situated on the corner of Main Street opposite Bangor bus station and the post office. We are open seven days a week for lunch, tapas, dinner and drinks. The future of The Ava is an exciting one, especially with a complete reboot of the drinks menu, now knows as 'The Drink Bible' with its quirky illustrations and finishing touches. The food menu has also been revamped and expanded upon, proving that even the pickiest of eaters can find something they will enjoy. For those who are looking something a little lighter a new bar menu has been introduced which features tapas and selected wines by the glass. The newly renovated spot is also expecting a new beer garden and a re-branding of the cellar bar.

My family and I went for lunch on 21 August 2013 it was fantastic food really enjoyed it. Specially the starter of chilli chicken and my favourite main chinese chicken stirfry with noodles - to die for!
Very child friendly - no big long time waiting on our meals - excellent!!!

Paid a visit on Tuesday 20 August 2013 and really looked forward to the fantastic tapas selection and fine wine. We hadn't been for some months so hadn't realised that tapas had been taken off the menu. Slightly miffed! We ordered the Ava burger and smoked salmon caesar salad and neither could be faulted. The salad included anchovies, tasted fabulous and was beautifully presented. The burger was topped with tobacco onions, cheese, bacon etc.etc. it was fab and served with a choice of side. We choose chunky chips which were heavenly dipped in the homemade salsa relish! Staff as always were faultless! Way to go Ava always super perhaps tapas could make a guest appearance occasionally ?

Love this place and try to pop in every couple of weeks. They do a great early bird menu, starter. & main for £10. They stock lots of different wines ranging in prices and you can look at the bottles on offer. Food was delicious and really enjoy heading over on a Friday night. Would recommend :)
